Lest we forget.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Blossom Hill Nursery!
RIP Amber; aka Blossom Hill’s greeter, stick mulcher and security guard: You were the only lab known to not touch an unguarded plate of roast beef dinner on the coffee table. We will always miss our noodle with all of her meatballs. Its been a great 12 years.

And the winner of the Sustainable Story Contest is... Blossom Hill Nursery! Congrats to Joe and Hazel Cook and their daughter Amy for doing their part to practi...ce sustainable agriculture! Since 1994, the Cooks have planted and sold drought tolerant perennials, grown and propagated from their own stock plants, and collected rainwater in three 1600 gallon tanks for watering. In 2009, the Cooks expanded their practices to include bee keeping in an environment which supports pollinators. They have expanded from 3 to over 60 hives, and from these make a range of honey products. To celebrate their 25th year in business, last autumn they planted a 12 acre native wildflower meadow and tallgrass prairie as cover cropping surrounded by native trees and shrubs, and installed windbreaks. This project was supported by the Canadian Agricultural Partnership program and has helped reduce erosion, improve biodiversity and sequester carbon. We hope Blossom Hill Nursery will enjoy their year’s supply of clear garbage bags in support of the Township’s Clear Garbage Bag program!
