When the happiest of mail arrives ... A red and white polka dotty parcel was waiting on the kitchen counter for me yesterday, and in it was a treasure trove of @kate_selene yarn ... It’s chucking it down with rain today and only 5*C or so. Perfect weather to sit and crochet some cozy wrist warmers with some of this beautiful yarn! (I have the perpetual problem of purchasing tops that fit everywhere but the sleeve length...my wrists are cold! )... ... Happy Thanksgiving! ... It’s Thanksgiving Monday here in Canada, And I have plenty to be grateful for - my husband (he’s the engineer I’m sure you worked out which mug is mine!), my kiddos, my family, a cozy home, my garden, and my busy, crafty life (which is more busy than crafty at the mo!). Also tea. And wine. And chocolate...and Hawkins Cheezies (the world’s greatest snack food - if you know, you know!)... ... In spite of what this year has thrown us, there is stil...l so much to be thankful for ... And the mugs? Well, in the spring during our province’s stay at home phase, my husband and I spent a lot of time in our hothouse both for actual plant purposes, and for weekend wine We decided that the hothouse ought to have a name, rather like a good pub. I eventually hit upon The Artist and The Engineer And a few weeks ago I ordered these beautiful personalized mugs from @cornishware_artist for both of us (I figured we earned it after surviving back to school for our four kids, colds, braces for one of our kiddos etc. )! ... Still need to make a sign for the hothouse, though! ... Also, he uses his for coffee. Well, hello my lovelies! It’s been a bit of a while, hasn’t it? The kids have gone back to school - eldest in high school now, youngest in kindergarten (with type 1 diabetes...interesting times ), eldest had braces put on, two of the kids have had colds....it’s been just a wee bit busy! ....Which means there hasn’t been a lot of creating going on. So how about (an admittedly heavily filtered) photo of a cabinet full of fabric? It’s a grey, dark sort of day (hence the fi...lters), but you can’t go wrong with a fabric stash! Making the most of it ... School begins again this Thursday for our kiddos. With the eldest beginning high school and a new way of schooling for us...and our youngest entering Kindergarten - with type one diabetes and celiac - this was already going to be an interesting September. Throw in the pandemic protocols on top of that, and this could be our most interesting September yet ... So here’s to embracing all of those little things that are so important...like enjoying ...a fire and the garden on a September evening ...
