The day I removed all the tables at the cafe was a difficult day for me. I was grieving the loss of this space filling up at lunch, and the easy lighthearted conversations with customers. I was missing the smiles and human connection that just aren’t the same when hidden behind a mask. I was worried about how to adapt with the inability to have more than two tables in our space. I was wondering if our customers would still support us and come in for takeout. But as fate would... have it, my father finished this beautiful table on that very same day. And I was able to bring it into this space as I was removing all the other tables and chairs. Although things don’t look or feel the same, this table I asked my father to make brings me happiness every time I see it.
