TODAY Edmonton Strathcona NDP MP Linda Duncan's private member bill (Bill C-438) calling for a Canadian Environmental Bill of Rights will be up for debate in parliament. Bill C-438 would (among other things): (1) extend to all Canadians the right to a clean ecologically balanced environment; (2) impose duties on the federal government to take actions to enact and enforce protections; and ... (3) extend rights to Canadians to environmental information, to participate in decisions impacting the environment, and to take action to force government action.
