'Double Crossed' -Spy/Thriller/Comedy (24min) (trailer: https://vimeo.com/139161426 ) To date my largest project. DC was a full scale period piece/genre bending... production of volunteers with a large cast and many locations. I am grateful for every second of experience that pushed my abilities to the limit in every aspect. Lesson Learned: Some old buildings (like churches) really don't like 'Film' Fog/Hazzer Machines and will activate their fire alarm, evacuating the kindergarten class going on in the basement and bringing the fire department to our door. Luckily the kids thought it was fun and my trusty 1st AD Conor handled everything and convinced me everything would be fine.

'iBrain' - Sci-fi/Comedy (14min) (trailer: https://vimeo.com/73009847 ) My first collaboration with my incredibly talented sister Katrina Nicholson as a writer.../director sibling tag team, iBrain pushed me to make a bigger film with a larger crew striving to creative a world with a unique futuristic perspective and some silly walking and brain implants thrown in for good measure. Lesson Learned: You can prep until the cows come home but you can't account for everything, luckily Jack Yan Chen can light a big 'night-for-day' multi room wide shot at the end of a 13 hour day that you maybe only vaguely mentioned in passing during prep and didn't realize would be a big deal.... with only 3 Kinos (Kino: a type of small film light).

'Sensitivity Training II' -Buddy Cop Comedy (9min) (trailer: https://vimeo.com/152099614 ) Having done sound for the first film, I pitched myself to continue Ol...iver Ward's amazing story and the result was a refinement in every way to the story done with a guerrilla filmmaking style, 5 seperate static one'ers, and a lot of prop food. Lesson Learned: Lighting a dark moody film with only two lightbulbs on microphone stands and some small LED camper lights from honest Ed's (for the car interiors) CAN work, but it takes a lot of creativity. Luckily Oliver Ward was just as comfortable Gripping (hopping up on the roof a car to flag the light for the other actors close-ups) as he is a leading funny man.

'The Critic' Horror/Comedy (3min) Inspired by my friends in the Blue Flame Collective who were making their first films (and I doing their sound) and armed wit...h a simple idea, 3 locations, 12 hours, aand an incredible cast/crew beyond what I was worthy of. The Critic was my first attempt at directing and ignited my passion for filmmaking. Lesson Learned: Fake Blood is hard to make yourself, prep it beforehand to avoid sitting on set for 45min trying to make believable blood, good thing my big brother Jared Daniel Nicholson was there to save the day.

We Each Have Our Armies screened in Uganda at the Nile's Diaspora International Film Festival (NDIFF) last night. This is the 3rd country where the film has screened with another international announcement on the way. The film has now been officially selected into 11 film festivals. The work was produced by the Blue Flame Collective as part of the Village Global production slate.
