Remember back in May, when it looked like the food system might collapse, how you told yourself you need to buy more local? Well it's now October ... How did th...at go? Most local farms saw a mad rush back then, and a slow decline again as it became safer to go back to the grocery store. If you want local food available when you need it then you need to support it even when you don't. The good news is there is still lots available and you can still make a difference this year. Blue Heron Farm will be there!

We will not be at the Monday market this week but we will be at the Cape Breton Farmers Market on Saturday October 10th.

Anyone wanting cucumbers, zucchini, Swiss chard, pea shoots, broccoli micro greens, sunflower micro greens, green peppers, celery, leeks, leg size zucchini, gre...en onions, collard greens please come to the Food Bank today and tomorrow from 9am - 3pm. Blue Heron Farm has harvested its first cauliflowers. This grade B cauliflower is almost 12 inches (30 cms)in diameter and weighs about 7 1/2 pounds (over 3kgs).
