Announcing a new feature at AKA -- a community herb shelf put together by local herbalists! This project is intended to bring awareness of herbal medicines and make them more accessible to people who want them. All herbs are free, and you can come pick them up during regular Blue Heron hours. You can contact Jane and Kathleen at [email protected] with herb-related questions. Blue Heron is closed (again) during this lockdown but we are offering contactless curbside pick up and returns! Starting next week, if you would like to borrow a book, message us on FB or at [email protected] with the title and author, and your name and contact information (phone and/or email). Contact us before 3pm on Mondays or 5:30pm on Thursdays and we will place your book in the little box at the top of the ramp and message you when it’s ready. Hello everyone! Blue Heron is updating our hours, effective tomorrow (Mon Dec 14th): - We are now open Thursdays from 5:30-7:00. - Monday hours are now 3:00-7:00.... - We will be closed Dec. 28th, 31st, & Jan 4th and reopening Thu Jan 7th. Please come by to see us sometime!

Hello everybody! We are very happy to announce that we will be reopening this Monday for the first time since we closed early this year. We really value Blue Heron open hours because they allow us to meet new people and share ideas, discussion, and build community. During this time especially, human connection is extremely important. We have therefore put some guidelines in place to allow us to interact in person (on Monday evenings only for now) while staying as safe as poss...ible. We ask that visitors help us by: - Not visiting when you are sick or when someone close to you is sick - Limiting to 5 people in the space at a time (including volunteers) - Wear a mask that covers the nose, mouth, and chin (we will have some on hand if you need one) - Use the hand sanitizer provided when you come in - Note that kitchenette use is restricted to volunteers only We hope to see you soon, and as always you can view our online catalogue here: librarything.com/catalog/blueheronbooks.

Thanks to all who came out to the book sale yesterday! It was so much fun and we sold so many great books that we are asking for book donations! If you have any you'd like to give away we'd be happy to take them--just let us know!
