Clinic Opening This Week I am taking appointments again in my clinic starting this week for allergy testing and therapy. I am sure that Spring allergies are affecting everyone with sneezing, runny nose and eyes and sinus issues. These symptoms are concerning many as it can mimic some Covid-19 symptoms and creates additional anxiety. I would like to announce that I am gearing up to have nutritional and lifestyle counselling sessions online or by phone. I have Skype and Z...oom accounts set up now online and can have video consultations in 1/2 hour or 1 hour increments. I am working on ways to have encrypted emails so your personal information is safe and meets HIPPA privacy and security criteria. Please call or email me for appointments. I would be happy to support your ongoing health concerns. I can help you boost your immune system and support your nervous system to reduce stress.

Are you having trouble sleeping? This is a great article on sleeping issues in general. I disagree that there should be a set number of hours of sleep based on age or gender. Some people need more than 7 hours of sleep, others can operate very well on 5-7 hours of sleep. Stress can increase sleep issues, and of course, with the Covid-19 isolation period has increased financial and emotional stress. If you are having trouble with sleep, fatigue, depression, anxiety, or ener...gy issues, there are herbal or nutritional supplements that can help. Book a consultation so we can look at solutions for you. I can do phone or computer appointments at this time. Hopefully, I can open the clinic for regular appointments to address Spring allergies the week of May 11th. https://fullscript.com/blog/sleep-hygiene

Clinic Closure Continues Through April Unfortunately, it appears according to Health Canada, that I will have to keep the clinic closed for the month of April. Hopefully, with self isolation being followed diligently by all citizens, the spread of Covid-19 will be decreased enough for most of us to get back to work. Please stay safe and healthy. Check on family members and friends daily. I am here by phone or email if you have any problems. ... Cathy

Anti-viral and Immune Support I thought this was an interesting article to read. There are many things that you have in your home right now to support your immune system and to keep you healthy. Follow the isolation guidelines set out by Public Health, wash your hands often, only go out for groceries once a week, and now it seems wearing a mask or scarf out in public is necessary. ... Take daily vitamins C and D3, drink 6-8 cups of water to flush toxins and viruses, eat well (not too much sugar, as tempting as it seems, as it suppresses the immune system), cook meals with a variety of spices (they are anti-inflammatory and support the immune system), and add berries/onions/garlic into your diet. https://thenutritionwatchdog.com/quercetin-vs-covid19/

Clinic Closure After careful consideration and the fast pace of the Covid-19 Virus spread, I have decided to close my clinic to protect all my clients for the next 2 weeks starting Monday, March 23rd, 2020. Hopefully, I can open again Monday, April 6th, 2020. If you have any concerns, we can set up a telephone consultation appointment to address them.... Please use common sense to stay healthy and practice kindness and compassion for your family, friends, and neighbors. Good luck to you all, I wish you the best. Cathy

Coronavirus Information Number one, don't panic! The media is promoting fear. You want to boost your immune system to keep you from picking up ANY viruses. Eat a healthy diet, drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep is a great start. Adults take extra Vitamin C (3-4,000 mg) and Vitamin D3 (7-8,000 IU) daily, children take half those amounts. There are herbs that support the immune system and are antiviral in nature. Echinacea, Lemon Balm, Oregano Oil, Garlic, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Olive Leaf, Mushroom Extracts are helpful. Many spices that you cook with are antiviral, anti-inflammatory and immune boosting. Wash your hands often with a mild soap like Dove, avoid the hand sanitizers as they are are harsh on the skin. You can use lysol wipes on surfaces, like grocery cart handles. Gargling with Listerine is helpful, as well.

I think this is an important article to read as I have had patients call me to ask if Dr. Gundry's supplements are necessary for good health. My answer is an emphatic "NO". I don't agree with Dr. Gundry's assessment in his book the Plant Paradox for many of the reasons stated in this article. It is a fear based book, lacking in real world experience and is promoting his expensive supplements that aren't beneficial. It's a waste of money and your time and energy. https://foodrevolution.org/blog/the-truth-about-lectins

Happy New Year to you and your family!! Hopefully, you had a great connection and communication with family and friends over the holidays. Health is not just your physicality, but also your emotional and mental health. Relationships with others keep us young. Isolation and loneliness as we get older can actually age us and create depression, which can cause emotions to go in a downward spiral. Find a way to keep busy and connecting with other people. ... There has been lots of studies about exercise supporting our mental health. Exercise does not mean running a marathon. It means stretching, some weight bearing exercises, dancing and walking. I've always felt that health, both physical and mental, is good energy flow. Movement helps keep energy flowing in the body. Disease is the blockage of energy flow in various areas of the body. So find a way to dance, sing, walk and stretch to release tension and stress throughout the day. You will feel more relaxed and happy and more able to cope with life's experiences and whatever comes your way. I wish for you love, happiness and contentment in the coming year. To your health!! Alternative Health Sites Have Become Targets of Social Media Over the last year, many health sites have been shut down by Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The reason was they all had research documents or opinions about vaccines, both pro and con. With the push by the CDC and many medical doctors about the "measles outbreak" in the United States, there has been a full on assault against the people who haven't vaccinated their children on religious grounds, etc. Many areas of the USA (California/New York and more) are trying to pass laws to make vaccinations mandatory on all shots in order to attend public school but also are taking away your right to refuse and inject it with a foreign agent. Check out what happened to GreenMedInfo, an online research library.
