Good Day Members of Blue, As we enter the 2021 golfing season, the Board, as mentioned in the President’s letter, has set up task forces which have been diligently working behind the scenes to ensure a calm transition into the new golf year for all our members. We believe and understand that Covid 19 will still play a major role in 2021 and how we operate.... As of December 21, 2020 Road Runner Foods decided to withdraw from our catering contract due to the uncertainty of the government wage subsidy program beyond June 2021. We thank them for their service this past season and wish them every success in their future endeavours. Over the last several months, the Board being aware that this may happen and doing its due diligence, set up a Food and Beverage Task Force and started the process of contacting a number of potential Caterers that would ensure Food and Beverage for the full 2021 season and beyond. After an extensive search and dutiful negotiations, we are excited to announce, that we have secured The Dornoch Tap and Grill in Nottawa for our Food and Beverage Catering services. The owners, Leslie Price and Steve Holmes, look forward to bringing their brand of food and beverages for our everyday enjoyment. If you’ve not had a chance to experience their food please feel free to take the short drive to Nottawa, meet the owners and try their menu. This coming Sunday is the final golf day for this year! It is hard to believe that when the Provincial Government allowed us to open in May that the 2020 golf season would go by so quickly. The Board and staff wish to thank you for your support this season considering the 10 minute tee time and other operational restrictions we were required to adopt to ensure everyone`s health and safety in this challenging COVID golf environment. SILVER AND GOLD TEE SUGGESTION FORM REVIEW To date, the Sub-Committee is pleased with the number of Silver and Gold tee suggestion forms received. Comments over all have been very positive. The Sub-Committee encourages members to continue to provide their comments this week. The Silver Tee handicap is equivalent to the Long Hybrids with the Gold tees equal to the Short hybrids.

IRRIGATION BLOWOUT THIS WEEK Thanks to the nice weather this past week, the Course and Grounds staff were able to complete the required greens aerification. Irrigation blowout continues today and tomorrow, October 20th and 21st. This is done using a large compressor which is brought into the area by the local superintendents with each course getting designated dates. Play is restricted to 9 holes on these 3 days and returning to 18 hole play on Thursday, Oct. 22nd weather ...and course conditions permitting. To accommodate member demand on those 3 days all members will only be able to play 9 holes. The irrigation blowout means that use of the existing on course washrooms has now concluded for the season. To accommodate member need this week, 2 portable washrooms have been brought on site. These portables are located at Hole #3 tee and Hole #12 tee. See more
