We’re doing some renovating in this historical old family farm home. Floors insulated with old newspapers! This is an ad from THE ISLAND FARMER in 1930. It’s made for some entertaining reading!

It’s Saturday night and there is some lamb cooking on the BBQ. Marinated with fresh herbs, garlic and onion. New PEI potatoes on the side. Everything home grown. Mmmm!!!!

Oh! Are you tired big fellas? Maybe you shouldn’t have been on tour at 2:30 this morning. Running willy nilly through the big garden and around the yards in the dark. We don’t know if they were running in the pen feeling good in the cool air or something spooked them. They just took out the whole end solid feeder panel. A temporary steel gate is up and MAYBE the gardener will be ok in a couple years!

First time Rideau Moms bred Suffolk. These are only a few of them. We think they are doing a pretty good job. Turn up the volume to hear quiet time in the barn.

Hot pink nightgown and barn boots! Can’t get all fussy when there is an early morning emergency in the barn and ya gotta run. 12 babies by 7:00 am. This is the day they were to start. Well over 100 on the ground by last night.

Here we go! First babies of the year. A nice start with lovely purebred Suffolk triplet ewe lambs.
