Yesterday, we saw a patient who had treatment with D.I.Y. -type orthodontics ( the type of aligners they make and mail to your house). The patient started w...ith mild crowding of her lower teeth (see photos) After about a year in treatment the patient presented to our office complaining of having a hard time eating and was very unhappy with her finished result. Only her front teeth are in contact, making it virtually impossible to chew and eat normally. (see photo) The D.I.Y. company offered her more aligners but the patient stated she was done dealing with them. We placed braces on her teeth yesterday to correct this serious malocclusion.
