Performed a life long dream today. I went swimming in Georgian Bay on my birthday.
Went for a great sunset swim tonight. Water was cool, clear and flat as glass. Just beautiful.Went for a great sunset swim tonight. Water was cool, clear and flat as glass. Just beautiful.
It seems I must remind people that when you are near the water, especially on a clear day, your voice travels, far! While I was floating on the water today I heard a man, very distinctly telling his friends about how he kicked a couple of people out of his car, he was remind there where children around and to watch his language. He boasted about how he took derogatory pictures of a woman at Bloor Subway station. Talked of his wedding at Keele and Hwy 7. Oh and that spider you saw it was a sand spider they can be big. So remember don't say anything near the water, especially on a clear day, that you don't want the whole beach to know about.
It's the beginning of another great summer. Please be respectful to everyone who lives and vacations here. - Remember in order to have your evening bonfires you MUST have a fire burning permit, respect fire bans and no burning on the beach at any time. (We have neighbors who light huge bonfires right outside our bed room window and then go to bed. Use your brains people.) - Remember there are many full time residence on our lovely beach, many of who must go to work earl...y every morning. Please do not party loudly during the night. Curfew is 11 pm for the township. (Same neighbors will have loud discussions well into the early hours of the morning. Many time I will be getting up to go to work and they are still sitting out on their back deck loudly discussing some issue, and no they are not up earlier than me, I've been awoken by them several times during the night.) - While fireworks are great and most people love seeing them, they are not so lovely when you are woken up at midnight with them going off. please respect the 11 pm curfew. - We all love going to the beach but we do not love sitting in other peoples garbage. If you had the room to take it to the beach you have the room to take it back with you. This includes cigarette butts. There is nothing worst for some one who is very allergic to cigarettes to sit down at the beach only to discover cigarette butts buried in the sand. It's even worse to discover your you baby or child with one in their mouth. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF EVERYONE WHO LIVES, VACATIONS AND USES OUR BEAUTIFUL BEACH.

Come on people have a little respect. Just because your here on vacation doesn't mean those of us who live here full time are up all night too. Fireworks at 10:30, and later, at night is a bit much on a week night and I include Friday night in this since allot of us work on Saturday too. If you must do fire works on a week night, please do them before 10pm, 9:30 would be even better. 5:30/6 am comes awful early, especially when you've been kept up late with fireworks outside your bedroom window.
I went for my first swim of the year this evening. I arrived at the beach to find two young boys, my best guess they where under 10 years old probably younger, all on their own. I looked around and saw no adult any where to be seen. I went into the water and went as deep as my shoulders and then turned to look at the beach. And there was the younger boy standing there peeing on the beach. Once he had finished the two boys ran up the path way and assumingly home. My question ...is what type of parent, or possibly grandparent, allows their child to pee in public places? And do you really feel it so safe as to allow two young boys to go to the beach unattended? After all two men just drowned two days ago at Wasaga Beach, that's just around the corner from here, basically the same beach as our's. I know it's not the city, but do you real think kids can't be abducted or drown when unattended here? See more
Sunset at the beach, July 8, 2017.
Lots of hail today at the beach.
Sunset after the storm.
Great afternoon at the beach.
I could sit here and just enjoy the sound of the waves all day long.
The Mariner Resort at Bluewater Beach. 1985, perhaps.
Lots of ice still on the bay.
Metal detecting.
Hot day, time for a dip to cool off.
