We regret to announce that Race Organizers have cancelled the 2021 Bluewater Triathlon and Ironkid Triathlon. The race date was set for July 24/25 2021 in Brights Grove. With the current pandemic environment, and pace of vaccine rollout, it is unlikely that sufficient herd immunity will be present to allow for such a large gathering to be condoned by public health.... Have a safe summer, and please get vaccinated.

We are cautiously planning for the 2021 Bluewater Triathlon and Duathlon to take place Saturday July 24, with the Ironkid set to go July 25. We are planning a similar event to 2019 with an Olympic distance Triathlon and Duathlon, a sprint Triathlon and Duathlon, a Team Relay Triathlon and Duathlon and an Olympic and Sprint Aquabike (swim/bike) on the Saturday, and the age appropriate Ironkid distance race on the Sunday. The event will once again be sponsored by the wonderful ...people from St John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, Brights Grove with lots of help from the Brights Grove community. The event is still totally dependent on our ability to wrestle the Covid monster to the mat, and I am hopeful that large gatherings will be allowed at that point, and that most of us will be vaccinated. In this light, the race is ON, but we will not be opening registration until we have a good grasp that we will be able to proceed. We will likely open registration at the beginning of June. So, time to get off the couch and get on your bike!!

We have decided therefore to cancel the 2020 Bluewater Triathlon/Duathlon and Ironkind Triathlon set for July 25/26 in Brights Grove. Athletes who have already registered will be refunded their registration fees. We are currently working with our online registration platform on how best to do this, and will post an update in a few ...days. Stay safe, and hopefully we will be racing again in 2021. Message from the Race director: Debbie and I had a great winter, and are currently sheltering in place like everyone else in these unusual times. We are hopeful that the trend in Ontario follows that of other large centres and the Covid crisis passes in several more weeks. We are still planning to proceed with the Bluewater Triathlon and Duathlon and Ironkid Triathlon 2020 edition scheduled for July 25 and 26. We are cautiously optimistic we will be able to race. That said, stay well, listen to your Public Health professional's advice and keep training.

The 2020 Bluewater Triathlon and Duathlon is set for July 25 and the Ironkid for July 26. In cooperation with Triathlon Ontario, athletes competing in the Bluewater Olympic Duathlon will be able to secure a spot on the Canadian Team going to the World Duathlon Championships in Townsville Australia in 2021. Triathlon Ontario be awarding one male and one female spot in each 5 year age group in the 2020 Bluewater Olympic Duathlon. We will be limiting our athlete field to 400 athletes overall. We plan to open registration February 1 2020. Good luck in your training!!
