The Ursuline Sisters of Prelate have served on the westside of the Diocese of Saskatoon since 1919. Our area of St. Joseph's Colony is indebted to their faithful witness and service! Our diocese was also served by the Ursuline Sisters from Bruno. Historical Facts from St. Joseph's Colony: Arrived in Saskatchewan at Prelate in 1919. Mission in Tramping Lake from 1925-1977. Mission in Denzil 1937-1980? (maybe someone knows). Mission in Revenue 1938-1965. In the 1950's, at the height of their summer Catechism program, there were some 70 sisters teaching in 30 different places in Saskatchewan.

Prayer to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception O most Holy Virgin, immaculate in body and spirit, look kindly on me as I implore your powerful intercession.... O most Holy Mother, receive my prayers as I present them to God. (state your intentions here) O Mary, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, you intercede for us with your Son. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Amen.

I wasn't there to say farewell to Sister Emily, a special friend but I know all three Sisters were welcomed Home today. These gracious, God fearing ladies gave their souls to our Lord and most made Blumenfeld and its parishioners what it is today. Till we meet again , kv.

Awesome volunteers came together on Tuesday to tin the food booth, awning, bathrooms and prayer house while some of us cleaned and reorganized inside our beautiful church. We are truly blessed by these helpers and the Holy Spirit made sure our blessings were blown all around us on that day, lol. God is good.

On Tuesday, September 29th @ 9AM, we will be having a work bee, tinning the bathrooms and food booth and cleaning inside the church. Maybe we could do a bit of maintenance in the cemetery if possible. Maintenance meaning filling holes and possibly propping headstones. I don't know if it will be possible?!

What a speech by Pope Francis yesterday! Worth a read regardless of your faith *You can have flaws, be anxious, and even be angry, but do not forget that you...r life is the greatest enterprise in the world. Only you can stop it from going bust. Many appreciate you, admire you and love you. Remember that to be happy is not to have a sky without a storm, a road without accidents, work without fatigue, relationships without disappointments. To be happy is to find strength in forgiveness, hope in battles, security in the stage of fear, love in discord. It is not only to enjoy the smile, but also to reflect on the sadness. It is not only to celebrate the successes, but to learn lessons from the failures. It is not only to feel happy with the applause, but to be happy in anonymity. Being happy is not a fatality of destiny, but an achievement for those who can travel within themselves. To be happy is to stop feeling like a victim and become your destiny's author. It is to cross deserts, yet to be able to find an oasis in the depths of our soul. It is to thank God for every morning, for the miracle of life. Being happy is not being afraid of your own feelings. It's to be able to talk about you. It is having the courage to hear a "no". It is confidence in the face of criticism, even when unjustified. It is to kiss your children, pamper your parents, to live poetic moments with friends, even when they hurt us. To be happy is to let live the creature that lives in each of us, free, joyful and simple. It is to have maturity to be able to say: "I made mistakes". It is to have the courage to say "I am sorry". It is to have the sensitivity to say, "I need you". It is to have the ability to say "I love you". May your life become a garden of opportunities for happiness ... That in spring may it be a lover of joy. In winter a lover of wisdom. And when you make a mistake, start all over again. For only then will you be in love with life. You will find that to be happy is not to have a perfect life. But use the tears to irrigate tolerance. Use your losses to train patience. Use your mistakes to sculptor serenity. Use pain to plaster pleasure. Use obstacles to open windows of intelligence. Never give up .... Never give up on people who love you. Never give up on happiness, for life is an incredible show.* (Pope Francis).

With our distancing Daryl, Eileen and I went to Blumenfeld for a few hours to clean up. We have a bit more to do but it already looks amazing. Thanks to the RM for mowing the yard. We will be shingling our food booth and bathrooms soon. The friendship shared, the peacefulness(after the vacuum was turned off) and our surroundings are gifts that God has created that can never be taken away from our souls. We are hoping to be open for tours this summer but will keep everyone posted. Have an amazing Sunday!
