This week's ICOW came from judge Jan Egil Eide who will be one of the two Judges at the FCI AWC in 2022. this course was the Individual Large Jumping course at the Luxemburg Championship in 2018. The course had a nice balance, with wide open lines broken up with a couple of tight turns. Handlers could choose a Blind cross #4-#5 or a threadle. They could also "serp/recall" over #10 or do a blind #10-#11. Handlers were successful on both sides of #11-#12. It was a fast co...urse that was challenging and fun. Congratulations to Lori and Moon who took home chocolate for going clear on the first attempt! Congratulations to Rick with Dawson who will get the Toonies for posting the fastest clean time of the week, edging out Chris with Molly by 0.12s!

This week's course came from 2022 EO judge Jari Suomalainen. This course was run in Oulo Finland in 2020. This was a challenging course with a lot of handling options for the handlers to choose from. The line from #2-#5 could be done nicely on either side, or with a side change part way through. Handlers could be on either side of #9. At #13-#15 handlers were successful with both Blind and Rear Crosses. Even the dogwalk had successful strategies with handlers on either si...de. It was definitely a course that tested the dog's execution of the weaves and all three contacts while the handler left the dog to get to the next challenge. It was also an athletic course with full length runs in the 40 meter (131') ring. Congratulations to Hannah with Zest who posted the fastest clean time this week!

This week's course was labelled as a Bart DeDecker course when I got it but it didn't have any other information with it. It was a nice Jumping course. The broad jump caused a wrong-course error for several dogs. A few dogs did #1 after #17. There was some discussion about which way to turn the dogs after #4 (right is faster), and #5. The most difficult section to handle well was the twisty section #14-#17. There were several good options there depending on the team's skil...ls. Congratulations to Christine with Molly, Rick with Dawson, Jael with Deja, Lori with Jessie, and Ann with Esprit, who all took home the chocolate for going clean on their first attempt! Congratulations to Ann with Esprit who took the $32.00 Toonie pot for posting the fastest clean time of the week, edging out Hannah and Zest by 0.32 sec!

ICOW is back! First ICOW (International Course Of the Week) since COVID began. This weeks course was from Judge Petr Pupik. A lovely course that flowed really well and had lots of challenges. IMO one sign of a well designed course is when the errors are spread all over the map. This course definitely had that! But when handled well it was lovely. I will post a map in the comments with some of the most common errors. Try to guess before you look. Congratulations to Tara with Jax who took home the chocolate for going clean on the first attempt. Congratulations to Brittany Holland with Lyric for posting the fastest clean time!
