No one knew what to expect, but the anticipation was building by the day, and as it turned out, exceeded the dreamiest of fairytales and became the Single Greatest moment in Canadian Surfing History with @PeteDevries winning the first ever ASP/WSL contest in Canada, at his home break, with the whole town of Tofino shutdown and on the beach to cheer him on against 144 of the worlds best surfers, to witness history in the making! This defining moment made an indelible mark to all those that were there, and cemented Tofino as the epicentre of Canadian Surfing, established Pete Devries as a formidable world class talent, and what was considered a fringe oddity before, validated Canadian surfers coast to coast.
