Sunday, March 14, is Pi Day. In celebration, math students drew 2 different circles of different sizes and measured the circumference and the diameter of each. Students were really impressed with the fact that no matter how small or large circles are, Pi is always constant. They also asked about the unit of Pi, and Matthew shared that Pi is unit-less because the units cancel out. Of course, they wrapped up the activity by enjoying some yummy pie too!

It’s not too late to apply to Blyth Academy for the current academic year, and scholarship applications are still being accepted for full-year students. Our scholarship program aims to celebrate and reward student academic achievement and commitment to school life, and helps offset the cost of a full-time tuition. The scholarships are merit-based, and students are asked to complete a supplementary scholarship application in order to be considered for an award. Award amounts ...will vary, and may be up to 20% of tuition fees. Funds are limited, therefore you are encouraged to apply early. For additional information, please contact us at [email protected] or 519-204-6016 Term Two Begins November 18!

Paintings by our very own art teacher, Mr. Baryoum, will be included in the Virtual Open Studio organized by Savannah College of Art and Design - November 12-15, 2020. He explains, "I identify this series as a continuation of my past figure-oriented work, and, also, comparably, as a transformation in which the notion of the body becomes a metaphor for celebration. The imaginative representation of the body here is my attempt to encapsulate the ambiguity and the dynamics of th...e self. Accordingly, I resort to the visual sources from the ethnic celebratory rituals and mythological accounts that I consider raw materials that deliver narratives of humans encountering uncertainty and journeying into the self through the body." We are very proud of him! Globeducate Blyth Academy
