Wishing everyone a safe New Year!
Fun fact, letter delivery in the early days of Canada was done by Indigenous and Metis peoples as they already knew the terrain and safest routes to deliver letters and messages.
Wishing everyone a safe Solstice this year.

November 16 marks Louis Riel Day in Ontario. Today is the somber commemoration of the execution of Louis Riel in 1885. Each year, Métis people mark this traged...y by celebrating Métis culture, recognizing the many contributions of the Métis in Canada, and highlighting the struggles that Métis continue to face. We encourage you to gather safely with your community to proudly celebrate what being Métis means to you. President Margaret Froh invites our citizens and friends to share her message about Louis Riel Day.

I love my fellow crafters and vendors I've met over the years. My friend Mike Strathy of Armata Leather will have a brief Popup Sale in the BNFC parking lot on Tuesday September 29, 2020. Mike sells bags of Sage, Sweetgrass, Abalone Shells, Furs, Leather and much more. Mike will be selling out of his trunk and just a reminder that social distancing must be practiced. Masks must be worn and sanitization of hands and distancing must be adhered. *** Time 2:00 to 4:00 **
Get your submission in.

A couple of weeks ago in the comments of a post there was a conversation about how to correctly refer to the first peoples who inhabit the arctic. Well here we ...are :) For those asking: This creator is on TikTok and has a lot of fantastic and educational content. There is also a lot of other great Indigenous creators making great content on that platform. Once you make it to "Native Tiktok" you'll never go back. (You can also watch videos on the app without having an account)
