Dear Valued Customer, On September 30th, 2018 the OTS fee was discontinued and replaced with a sustainability fee. The $3.30/tire OTS fee will be discontinued and replaced with an environmental fee of $4.00/ tire on passenger and light truck starting October 1st. This is a flow through cost. Please see below communication explaining the fee. Tire Recovery Fees effective October 1st, 2018 As a non-profit organization, eTracks fees are based on a cost recovery model. Costs incl...ude amounts to collect, haul, process and re-manufacture end of life (EOL) tires, as well as the cost of an organization to support the setup, management, auditing and infrastructure to fulfill our customer’s obligations. While obligations under the new regulations begin in January, the costs to manage that obligation are already being incurred. eTracks will be generating revenue from supplied tires into the market and using those funds to pay for customers’ EOL tire collection & management obligations and the organization/infrastructure to support it. The October 1, 2018 start date for PLT tires provides an opportunity for eTracks to spread its first year costs over a longer period of time and ensure that it as prepared as possible for program launch on January 1, 2019. Effective October 1st, producers who are customers of eTracks will be reporting their supply of PLT tires to eTracks and will remit a $4 per tire recovery fee which will be used to manage their obligations under Regulation 225/18.
