In celebration of the Boardmore Theatre’s 50th Anniversary, we invite you to join us in reflecting upon our past Seasons of Plays! In order to celebrate our anniversary in a safe and accessible way, we will be sharing photographs across our social media platforms. Though this performance predates the founding of the Boardmore Theatre, Harry Boardmore’s 1967 production of The Crucible at Sydney’s Vogue Theatre is an integral part of the Boardmore’s history. These image...s provide a fascinating look at the rehearsal process, the venue, and the structure (and beauty!) of the costumes. Image credit: Boardmore Theatre Collection. MG 21.23. Hello, The creative and cultural sector contributes significantly to the economic and social wellbeing of Nova Scotia. The sector, which includes independent artists, creative businesses, cultural groups, and organizations, was one of the most drastically impacted by COVID-19 and will likely take the longest to recover.... We, the undersigned, call for the Province of Nova Scotia to immediately address the urgent need for an emergency plan and funding for the culture sector. We specifically request a plan that addresses how the province intends to support cultural organizations, existing and new project applications, artists, and the survival and recovery of the cultural sector as a whole. Immediate action is needed by the government to ensure that Nova Scotia’s creative and cultural sector is able to survive, recover, and flourish in the new circumstances created by Covid-19. Please add your name to the petition to support the Culture Sector in Nova Scotia. https://form.jotform.com/202813607869261 Thanks Todd

Cancellation Notice The final two nights ( March, 13 and 14) of the 2020 Elizabeth Boardmore One Act Play Festival are cancelled, as per President Dingwall's recent announcement: Events and Large Gatherings... "CBU has decided to cancel all upcoming events until March 31, 2020. This decision was not made lightly but is made to prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19, to protect vulnerable populations, and to be considerate of our already strained healthcare system. As I mentioned, there are still no confirmed cases in Nova Scotia, and this preventative measure is being implemented with the health and well-being of our community in mind. This decision will be re-evaluated as the situation evolves, and the community will be made aware of any changes immediately". Refunds for tickets buyers will be available upon request.
