I have crafting attention deficit so when I thought about making the same two patterns over and over again I wasn’t sure I could do it. What I have learned is that every one is soo different and brings it’s own set of challenges. This one... never made one from polyester before and never thought I could use a hat but here he is.
The completed map! Thinking of offering this as a keepsake option for those who would like something other than a bear or owl. What do you think?
My self appointed creative director, Aka my sister Kelly, advised me that I needed to try something new. She is a wee bit obsessed with my Canada Maps and a bit of a craft tator so today I started a new map but with a twist. This particular map will be made of my late dad’s shirts that we saved when he passed. I am not going to lie....there may have been a misty eye in the room while cutting out the pieces. I really do think this is going to be an amazing keepsake when it’s done.
Another special bear completed.
Quilted coasters. Trying a new craft to sell in the Fort Sask online market. I was iffy about fabric coasters until my sister made them but now I love them and use them all the time.
Over the years I have had a number of people suggest I start making Memory Bears but it wasn't until recently that I tried my hand at it with my late Aunt's and Uncle's favourite clothing. I was nervous at first cutting into something so important that held so many memories but I am sure glad I took the leap. If you are interested in having a Keepsake made from clothing I would love to do that for you. In addition to the Bear I also have this Owl pattern to choose from. ...The Owl is smaller and requires less fabric (perfect for those teeny tiny baby clothes). The cost for a finished keepsake is $50. ** The owl pattern used is from XanthePatterns.
3 very special memory bears made from an Opa's suit shirt and sweater. It is always wonderful to be a part of making these special keepsakes.
Not nearly as nice as my old sewing room but at least I am all set up. Hoping to finish the basement this year and have a nice new sewing space again.
A special request project for my cousin Chantel. Memory Bears from my Aunty Lorleen’s and Uncle Billy’s clothes. I haven’t made bears forever so I am pretty happy with how they turned out.
A mock set up in the garage to figure things out.
Mom’s little helper giving me input on how I shoulda set up my table for next Thursday.
All finished the mountain pillows and had some white fleece left over. I figured out I could make some cloud pillows.... regular and mini. I can’t keep these kid’s away from them. Especially this one!
Fell in love with this fabric on my trip to the fabric store.
