The Bobcaygeon Lions Club is proud to have been able to help the Salvation Army exceed its fundraising target for Christmas 2020. Thanks go to the Club Members who gave of their time, energy and enthusiasm to work the Kettle at Bobcaygeon Foodland.
Merry Christmas, one and all.
A huge "Thank You" to Lions Janet M, Marnie D, Dave R, Rick M, Tracy H and David S for volunteering to man the Salvation Army Kettle at Bobcaygeon's Foodland in the run up to Christmas. We all responded to the Lions motto..."Where there's a need, there's a Lion"!
Presenting the 5 Bundle Buggies to The Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank. L to R: Lion President John Darling, Food Bank Executives Jan Haney and Laura Fisher. We could not have done this without the ongoing support of Bobcaygeon's generous residents and businesses, so many of whom have helped the Club survive during this difficult time.
The Bobcaygeon & District Lions have donated 5 grocery buggies to the Bobcaygeon Food Bank for the walking clients to borrow to transport their groceries home. Many thanks to Lion Dave Roberts for purchasing and assembling the carts, Lion John Darling for arranging for signage and attaching the metal plates, and Lion David Savournin for finding the carts that we purchased. Great teamwork guys!
Merry Christmas, everyone. Greetings from the Members of the Bobcaygeon Lions Club. Wishing you a safe, healthy and happy Christmas season.
My answer is yes to everyone of these, even the couch. Lol. I’m old.
The Club's Christmas Gifts for Food Bank Seniors was a much smaller and humbler program this year. Christmas cards and a PharmaSave Gift Cards handed out at the Food Bank. We hope that a year from now that we will be able to return to normal.
Our Thanks to the PHARMASAVE VILLAGE GATE PHARMACY for its very generous support of our Christmas Gift Program for the Senior Clients of the Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank. We started this program in November 2017 as an Emergency Delivery Service for Food Bank Clients that cannot get to the Food Bank to pick up their supplies due to health and/or mobility challenges. We call the program "Moe's Mission" in memory of the late husband of one of the Lions Members who started it three years ago.
LEST WE FORGET...
And...another load of scrap metals from S&G Sunrooms. Thanks, Scottie!
Another load of scrap metal - this time aluminum siding and extrusions - off to Gerdau's scrapyard in Lindsay. Our Thanks to S&G Sunrooms in Bobcaygeon for this load...and the others that will follow. The support for our Scrap Metal Collection Project, that we have received from residents and businesses in the Bobcaygeon, is amazing. During COVID-19, it is one of the few ways that we can continue to raise much-needed funds. THANK YOU!
Something to take to heart...
Lions were out collecting scrap metal yesterday. Thanks to the folks who donated the scrap, and thanks to Lions Paul, Eduardo, David S., Walter and John D. for flexing their muscles for close to 3 hours!

More volunteering at Camp Kirk. Today was sweeping, vacuuming and washing the floors of all the 'student' cabins. Today's volunteers were Lions Art Thompson (Port Perry), Carol and Tom Belcher (Bobcaygeon), David Savournin (Bobcaygeon) and Charles Lambert (Beaverton). With the temperature running at 30 degrees +, it was a dirty, dusty, sweaty but rewarding day!
Another day at Lions Clubs Camp Kirk, moving, sanitizing, washing and repairing camp staff and visitor beds. Lions Art Thompson (Port Perry), David Savournin (Bobcaygeon) and Byron Taylor (Udora) were today's volunteers.
Bobcaygeon Lions help at Lions Clubs Camp Kirk. Lions Carol & Tom Belcher and Lion David Savournin spent the day at Camp Kirk. Visitors will have sanitized and washed beds to sleep on now.
