Horticulture - 2020 Homecraft Competition Submission Video of Your Garden 2020 has certainly been challenging, and like many Bobcaygeonites, my gardens became my happy place this summer. The photos in this video start Sept 11th and go back to June 11th and including my favourite hydrangeas, as well as a new secret garden we brought back to life. Some of my focus was on taking better care of shrubs I planted in the last few years. We also tackled some back-breaking work in ...removing 7 trailers of invasive buckthorn, and rebuilt a perennial garden to attract more bees and butterflies. The process was rewarding and encouraged us to stop and smell the flowers, and take lots of pictures of the subtle day-to-day changes. We also noticed a lot more wildlife in the gardens, including the bees and butterflies we were hoping for, as well as frogs, toads, salamanders, chipmunks and birds we had not seen in previous summers. The process overall was a welcome escape and perhaps an upside of sorts to 2020. - Catherine Pentiricci
