Summer Quick Tip - If your A/C is running well and you still find it too humid in your home try this! You can adjust your heat recovery ventilator (HRV) settings for the summer months and perform some quick maintenance. Start by setting your de-humidistat (seen in the picture) to Summer/Off/Highest Humidity setting depending on the control manufacturer. We do not want to use the de-humidistat during the summer months to control the HRV. The de-humidistat uses the HRV to remov...e humidity by bringing in cool dry air from outside and exhausting warm humid air from your home ONLY during the winter months. Unfortunately the opposite will occur during the summer months adding heat and humidity to your home causing your air conditioner to work harder. You will bring in warm humid air into your home and exhaust cool dryer air out unless you set your de-humidistat to summer. You should also take this time to perform some quick maintenance on your HRV: 1) Unplug the HRV 2) Open up the front door and remove the two air filters (see picture) 3) Vacuum out any bugs and spider webs from the inside of the HRV 4) Pour hot water into each of the two drain pans to flush the drain and the p-trap 5) Wipe out the drain pans with a cloth 6) Inspect your intake and exhaust vents on the outside of your house and remove any debris from them. 7) Wash your air filters in the sink with hot water and mild soap detergent if necessary 8) Reinsert the air filters into the HRV taking note of any airflow arrows on the filters (some filters may have an airflow arrow and some may not, always point the arrow in the same direction as the airflow, see picture for airflow pattern) 9) Close the door and plug the HRV back in 10) Make sure your dehumidistat is set to summer. ** The Heat Transfer Core will need to be cleaned in the fall **

Today November 11th and Monday we close the doors to our business to take the time to remember all of those who sacrificed for us and our freedom. It is humbling to think about a human being sacrificing so much, and some times sacrificing everything, for strangers like you and me. Today we stop to think about what you did for us and from the deepest part of our souls we say THANK YOU!
