Detached vent lines (like this) can lead to a whole world of trouble While you're up there, make sure the insulation is evenly distributed before we head into the crazy cold weather. Lack of, or low levels of insulation can lead to attic rain not to mention massive amounts of heat loss

Friendly reminder - change your dang furnace filter Here's what @yycinspectormarty has to say: "3 months is the recommendation for filter changes. The life of your furnace depends on the filter. If you take the breath away from your furnace with a blocked filter you may end up replacing it. It's $25 for filters and $4000 for a new furnace. Pick your battles wisely." And we couldn't agree more
