What a beautiful morning swim!! The water seems to be holding at 6 degrees but definitely feels colder these days according to my fingertips. My skin is also ...reacting differently at this water temperature. Feels kinda crunchy after about 5 minutes and turns beet red. I don’t dip my head until we’re close to shore now to make sure I don’t cool my body too much or too fast but I always have to go fully under before I get out or my swim just doesn’t feel complete. And THEN I’m awake!! We’ve been able to maintain our full swim time - across the lake and back so around 20-25 minutes in. We had an unusual 2 day break this week so it felt harder to get in but we were rewarded by a calm and welcoming water with the pink tinge of the promise of a morning sun. So wonderful to see that pink sky after so many dark mornings. Looks like we wouldn’t have made it in yesterday after the wind storm! That was a big-ass tree that fell across the road!
