IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Effective Monday, Dec. 1, Bodhi Tree Yoga is cancelling all in-person classes for the rest of 2020. Like many other gyms and yoga studios, we have been struggling to pay our bills. We are staring down the barrel of a tough winter and do not want to close our doors. But it has become apparent that our provincial government will not make the difficult decisions that need to be made in the interests of public safety. That leaves it to us. ... The people of this province are going to have to make the difficult decisions on our own. With no support or assistance from our provincial government, we are returning to live-streaming online classes only. Not because we want to. Because we do not see another viable option. We are calling on other gyms, fitness facilities, and yoga studios in Saskatchewan to voluntarily close their doors and move to online platforms like we did in the spring. We know it is asking a lot. But this province requires leadership and, facing a lack of courageous leadership from our elected officials, we believe it falls on our community leaders to step up and make bold decisions right now. Our online classes are excellent. We have invested in quality audio and video equipment. Our teachers have been honing their skills at teaching online for nearly a year now. Our students have adjusted and made themselves more comfortable with the technology. We can do this. We can be the leaders we need right now. In person yoga and fitness classes are so much fun. It is a beautiful thing to move together, breath together, and get stronger together. But doing that in person is not necessary. It is not essential. We can make it happen online and, by doing so, we can help to prevent the spread of this virus. It is my hope that our government will be inspired by our example and will take the kinds of measures required to actually support small local businesses. Providing emergency funding to ensure small locally owned businesses can keep paying our staff and our rent/mortgages is the only thing that is going to help until we arrive at wide-scale immunity through immunization. Continually saying we need to protect the economy does not protect the economy. It is the virus, not the restrictions, that are killing our businesses. Until our governments step up, we humbly ask you all to support us in any way you can. If you still have an income, please consider doing your Christmas shopping at our boutique. Buy a pass for classes. Get some gift cards for your friends, family, or employees. Every little bit helps. We will be back. The end of this thing is in sight. Now is not the time to give up.

Update on In-Person Classes at Bodhi Tree: 1. We are staying with 1/4 capacity classes once a day. Everything else will stay on our live streaming platform. 2. Masks are required in the boutique downstairs and for when you enter the building for in-person classes.... 3. Students and teachers can decide for themselves if they would like to wear a mask during the class. The current SHA guidelines state that masks are not required during physical exercise. 4. We love you and we want you to stay safe. There are places in Regina offering hot yoga and we cannot in conscience offer any classes that are higher risk. There have already been outbreaks in yoga studios in Canada and we are committed to ensuring that everyone who practices with us stays healthy and doesn't take anything other than a relaxed smile back to their friends and families when they leave Bodhi Tree.

Teacher Training Scholarships! We are pleased to announce this scholarship program for aspiring yoga teachers from marginalized communities. The scholarships will cover between 25-75% of your tuition. If you are interested in teacher training but are facing a financial burden this program is for you. We will be prioritizing BIPOC applications in order to address the dire need for more diverse and inclusive yoga communities around the world. ... To apply, simply send us a DM letting us know how much (between 25-75%) of your tuition you require for your scholarship along with a short note to help us evaluate who should receive these scholarships in the event that we receive more than we can handle. This is not charity. This is an investment in making yoga better. This is an investment in making our teacher training better by including more perspectives and voices.
