A Total Rebirth Through Years of Meditation Practice A sharing from Cheng Pan (Vancouver, Canada) My name is Cheng Pan, and I have been practicing Bodhi Meditation for eight years.... I have undergone four surgeries. One of the post-surgery complications that affected me severely is chronic bloating. I took care of my family with a tired body. These situations inflicted many health issues, for example, headache, back pain, lower back pain, frozen shoulder, dry eyes, spotted vision, skin rashes, weak muscles, finger joint pain, knee pain, hip joint issues, etc. The pain from my left shoulder extends down to my left leg, and it makes a whole night's sleep difficult. Every day, I am in pain that makes me rather die. On August 26, 2012, I attended a "Health and Happiness Retreat" at Bodhi Meditation. With persistent practice, the severe bloating disappeared, and many sub-health conditions got better. Three years ago, on the fourth day of a chanting class, another miracle happened! I was kneeling and chanting sincerely, and I felt as if a constricted channel in the chest suddenly relaxed. That day, I realized that I could easily burp and relieve gas. Through years of meditation practice, the amount of bloating has reduced from ten to zero. I have lived how Bodhi Meditation can "dug out sub-health roots." It's a total rebirth! I'm very fortunate. I'm 61, and I can still greet each new day with fresh energy. I don't need to be taken care of; on the contrary, I have the spirit and strength to take care of my family and grandson! I am deeply grateful to Grandmaster JinBodhi. Without Grandmaster teaching meditation tirelessly, my husband, two daughters, my grandson, and I won't have these benefits. A sharing from Catherine (Vancouver, Canada) I am so thankful for the Chanting! And the energy healing from Grandmaster JinBodhi the day before was off the charts! I felt that it went into some very deep areas. When I saw my bodyworker this morning, he was able to get in deep on the left side of my neck for the first time. I felt like something opened up. He said it’s very deep! I said it’s as deep as the ocean! And I had memories of my time in Hawaii where the surfing accid...ent happed. I was 23 years old. That was 38 years ago. As many of you know I have had such trouble with my neck going out. I was afraid to be hugged because that was all it took to put my C-1 out. Then I would be in agony! Offering Lotus Lights to be blessed with children and to claim debts. Sharing from Yi Hui Bodhi Meditation Vancouver Center... My nephew was married in October 2019, and they’ve been trying to get pregnant this year. They went for checkups and found out that both of them had fertility issues, and the doctor even suggested surgery to my nephew's wife. My nephew's marriage was gravely affected, and my sister's entire family is stressed. At Medicine Buddha's Birthday Celebration Ceremony (November 14, 2020), I lit a month-long lotus candle for them. I prayed that Buddha and Bodhisattvas could bless them with a child. It's a miracle that on November 27, my sister told me that her daughter-in-law is pregnant! My sister and her husband are so excited beyond words! There's another miracle. I‘ve been trying to collect two debts since 2019: one is in New Zealand, and another one is in the Philippines. It has been a lengthy process with many difficulties and challenges. So, at the 2020 Medicine Buddha's Birthday Celebration Ceremony, I lit a lotus candle to pray for money and wealth. Unbelievably, I received good news on both debts on November 24. I have received the payment for one debt on December 1. The payment for the other debt is in the process of wired transfer! It's incredible! Both lotus candles have such amazing blessings! I'm grateful to Buddha, Bodhisattvas and Grandmaster! P.S. I want to share the great energy blessing I received from Bodhi in Boyhood. One morning in October, my mom said that her fingers, jaw and teeth were trembling. She was worried that something might be wrong and asked me to light candles for her. Immediately, I contacted the Bodhi Meditation Center to light a 15-day lotus light for her and a 49-day lotus light for her karmic creditors. I also hung a framed Bodhi in Boyhood painting in my home. Since then, I’ve practiced M...editation of Greater Illumination in front of the Bodhi in Boyhood painting. After each practice, I dedicate all the merits and benefits to my mom and her karmic creditors. I also chant and pray for my mom. Every day, I receive powerful energy blessings as I practice. On the third day, when my mom told me she was well, I couldn’t believe it. On the fourth day, during Grandmaster JinBodhi’s live feed session, I asked my mom again. The Cliff Of Life The ups and downs that we experience in our life train us to unleash our infinite potential. Just like the unsheltered flowers growing in the ...wild, may our life be filled with endless possibilities! May the story of this group of antelopes provide some inspiration to you. On the grassland of Africa, when antelopes encounter cheetahs and ferocious lions, the grown-up antelopes will lead their young towards steep mountains and cliffs. Why is this so? When a young antelope starts learning how to run on a grassland, its muscles are not yet fully developed. Even if it tried to run at top speed, each of its stride would not exceed 3 meters. When pursued by cheetahs and lions, antelopes would run towards the peak of a mountain or ravine. At this moment, antelopes would have to risk their life to make a leap. They would resemble a fully drawn bow, and leap into the air from the cliff, just like an arrow shooting out from the bow. When these young antelopes make such a leap, they would injure their muscles. When they recover, their strides would increase significantly to around 4 meters, significantly improving their ability to flee from predators. Through this method, whenever antelopes start to gallop on the grassland, lions and cheetahs would not be their match. This is also the reason why antelopes have to push themselves and their children to the edge of a cliff. Push yourself to the edge and not only will you be reborn, but you may also create miracles and unexpected good fortune. Life is similar to the above story. During this pandemic, so many of us have met great challenges financially, including me so I put a prayer on the youtube live chat hoping Grandmaster would bless us with better financial situations.... One evening, during the chanting group practice, my comment was chosen and to my surprise displayed on the video screen together with more prayers left in the live chat comments. I think my prayer said, "Grandmaster please bless all, may all our wishes come true" or something like that. I didn't think further about it. A few weeks later, I got back to work and it was extremely busy. We used to have around 3 transactions during the same time period but this year we had 17! , Cops for Cancer - Tour de Coast cyclists as they rode through Richmond on the final leg of their Cops for Cancer fundraising mission. Each year we welcomed more than 40 police officers, paramedics, sheriffs and border agents with our now-famous blaring theme song from Hawaii Five-0 and pom-pom greeting. After relaxation meditation, we served a vegetarian lunch, presented our donation, and provided encouragement for their co...ntinued endeavour of raising money and spreading the message of healthy living and cancer prevention. . This year, of course, is different. Instead of the lively visit we usually experience every September, this year, on November 3rd, it was a quick and quiet presentation of a cheque to a representative of the Canadian Cancer Society. . The cycling team consists of 36 cyclists who rode throughout Great Vancouver. Each day, groups of 6 travelled through different communities without the usual stops to interact with supportive organizations. Despite the challenges of this year, they raised $345,000 for pediatric cancer research and Camp Goodtimes (a camp for children with cancer). . Cops for Cancer began in 1994 with one police officer who wanted to make a difference. What is their mission? To raise money to help make life easier for sick children. Since then, it’s grown into a collective effort across Canada and become one of the largest fundraising events of childhood cancer research in the country and support for children living with cancer. . Year after year, the amazing team, along with their support team, give of their time and effort (including training time) to make the world a better place for the children. Bodhi Meditation shares their values of love for the community, giving selflessly and helping the community. On a morning this September, I saw Grandmaster and Medicine Buddha during my meditation session, and I felt incredibly peaceful! On the way to work that day, the brakes failed, I lost control of the car and crashed. Although my car was totalled, I was not injured nor traumatized. I firmly believe that this is because of the protection from Grandmaster and Medicine Buddha. I was blessed and spared from a tragedy. The Best - Laid Plan There was once a King who loved hunting. On each hunting trip, he would have the prime minister accompany him. The prime ministers favorit...e catchphrase was: Everything happened according to the best-laid plan. One day while hunting on horseback in a forest, the king shot a leopard with his bow and arrow. He dismounted and went to inspect his prey. With shocking suddenness, the injured leopard pounced on the king and bit off a part of his thumb. Instead of comforting words, the prime minister said, Your majesty, everything happened according to the nest-laid plan. Hearing this, the king grew more incensed: How about throwing you into prison? Will that also be the best-laid plan? As usual, the prime minister smiled and replied, I believe it is the best-laid plan. Furious, the king ordered the prime minister imprisoned. Time passed and the king recovered from the attack. He missed hunting and decided to set off alone to a remote jungle. Galloping along, he enjoyed a tranquil moment in the lush green. Suddenly, a group of local nomads emerged from the jungle, captured the king, and brought him back to their mountain camp. They intended to offer him as a sacrificial gift to the Full Moon Goodness. As the king pled for mercy, the nomads tied him to a wooden stake mounted Oman a large pile of firewood. It seemed his death was imminent. During the ceremony of sacrifice, the priest noticed the king was missing part of his thumb. The priest deemed him as imperfect offering, and fearing the wrath of the goodness, he released the king and spared his life. Upon returning to his kingdom, the king immediately released the prime minister and held feast for him. Indeed ot was the best-laid plan! Fortunately the leopard bit pff part of my finger, or else I would be dead! The king then asked the prime minister, What are your thoughts on being wrongfully imprisoned? The prime minister replied, If I hadnt been thrown into prison, I would have gone hunting with you and been caught by the nomads. Finding you unsuitable, they would have made me the sacrificial gift instead! Roaring with laughter, the king agreed: Indeed!
