Body Balance Physiotherapy 11.11.2020

We are currently assessing the needs of our clients on a case to case basis. Where virtual care is deemed appropriate and meets the needs of our clients, we continue to treat in this manner. Those clients that are deemed "urgent" will be scheduled at the discretion of the Physiotherapist. We continue to treat in this manner based on the recommendations of our College of Physiotherapy and Physiotherapy Associations as they work with the Ontario Government to include Physiother...apy services in the re-opening phases. Below is the latest excerpt from the Ontario Physiotherapy Association. (OPA) "OPA urges government to include physiotherapy services in re-opening plans. The OPA has been working with the College and in consultation with other jurisdictions in Canada in preparation for re-opening of community services, including clinics for in-person care. After more than two months under limitations imposed by emergency orders, and with the recent announcements that hospitals are to commence planning to begin offering elective and urgent surgeries and procedures in the near future, it is critical that Ontarians are able to access full physiotherapy services in their communities including in-person care." Please contact the clinic by phone or email so that we can answer the questions you may have. We will be phasing in our treatment with strict protocols and PPE in hand in order to protect the health of the patients we serve.

Thank you to our first responders and frontline workers. Your heroism is unparalleled. We, at BBH are doing our part to participate; but we also have a responsibility to our clients who need help and for the greater health community to do our part to keep people out of the hospital whenever possible; therefore, we are providing virtual sessions. Tele-rehabilitation, also known as virtual care, is the delivery of professional physiotherapy services at a distance, using telec...ommunications technology as the service delivery medium. Tele-rehabilitation relates to all aspects of patient care including the patient interview, physical assessment and diagnosis, treatment, maintenance activities, consultation, education, and training. We are using a platform and APP that is patient friendly and was recommended by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association as this platform protects confidentiality. By using this platform of treatment we are able to complete full assessments and provide treatment management. Who can benefit from these sessions? Patients who have had recent surgery and are uncertain as to how to progress exercise, patients who have sustained an injury and are unaware of what they hurt and uncertain as to how to treat it at home. Patients who have suffered any neurological impairment and require assistance in developing a home program to help improve balance, strength and recovery of function. Please do not hesitate to call or email us if you have questions about virtual care or to see if it can meet your current treatment needs. 519-541-9899 or [email protected]

Body Balance Health & Physiotherapy is accepting patients for virtual Physiotherapy consultations. As we are currently unable to see people in person we have set up a platform to work with our patients virtually to address concerns, progress exercise and make recommendations for continued recovery. These services are covered under most plans at this time. Please call the office at 519-541-9899 and leave a message if you would like to set up one of these appointments. We look forward to hearing from you and hope that everyone is remaining healthy.

At this point in time Body Balance Health & Physiotherapy is remaining closed. This has been a very difficult decision to make but due to the rising number of cases both in Ontario and Sarnia we feel that we must continue to do our part in minimizing the spread of this virus. The College of Physiotherapy of Ontario is allowing us to work with patients in emergent situations and virtually and we are set up to do so. We have not yet started to see patients "Physically" at the ...clinic as we feel the risk of this is too high and undermines all the efforts that our community members are making. Most importantly we recognize the efforts and risks that the local employees of the Hospital and other essential services are making each and every day. We stand behind and support all measures being taken from a social distancing standpoint. We will be updating our Facebook page every Monday to update patients on the current plan in the provision of care that we are offering however at this point in time, we are taking a firm stance in minimizing the risk of spreading this virus. Our thoughts are with all of our patients and encourage you to contact us by email or phone so that we can discuss how to meet the needs of your care at this time. See more

In these difficult times we thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate through all of these necessary changes to our service delivery. We closed the office to direct patient care on Thursday March 19th and will remain closed until we are permitted by the legislation of our governing bodies to re-open. Physiotherapy is a necessity to many people for multiple reasons and we are working behind the scenes to maintain contact with our patients and provide them t...he best alternative options to hands-on delivery of care. We are aware in some circumstances that emergent Physiotherapy care is needed and we will be offering this care to patients starting the week of April 6th if such patients meet the criteria necessary to prevent the spread of Covid 19. We encourage you to send us an email to discuss how we can provide the care you may need and determine how this service can be delivered to you in a timely manner.
