It’s an interesting time we’re living in right now, to say the least. Everything is closed, the streets are empty, kids aren’t going to school, and the majority of us are (working) at home. As always, the health and well-being of our community remains a top priority at Body Insight.... So, in keeping with government recommendations, Body Insight will be closed until further notice. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and re-open our facility when the time is right. But we’re not going anywhere, Insighter. We're here for you. A lot of us are feeling scared and anxious -- there are many factors that are unknown or to be determined and we’re in unprecedented territory. We don’t know what the future holds right now. What we do know though is that taking care of ourselves; eating well and moving our body for not only our physical health but our mental health, is more important than ever. But it’s hard without the usual structures, daily routines, and gyms available to us. Plus, when you’re at home it’s all-too-easy to eat all day... If it feels like your health and fitness goals are put on hold right now, you’re not alone. With COVID-19 it can’t help but feel like our lives are in limbo. And frankly, we don’t know how long it’ll last. We want to support you during this time and keep you focused on the positive outcomes you want to create instead of being on a strict news-and-fear-only diet (which doesn’t help anyone feel better). We’re here to help keep you healthy and thriving as a human especially during this time because the world needs you. We’re thinking of writing an article about how NOT to put your body, fitness, health goals on hold during quarantine! Would that be something you’re interested in? If not, let us know if you’d rather receive something more like... -Setting yourself up for success with a daily routine -How to be at home AND eat healthy -How to workout without a gym or any equipment -Structuring goals during this time so you actually achieve them -Something else! Comment below or message us! We want to make sure we’re answering your questions and serving you. See more

There’s a high degree of diversity in body composition and it’s inaccurately reflected by simple anthropometric measures like using a scale or tape measure. Body composition can vary with normal fat mass or increased adiposity, gyroid or visceral obesity, sarcopenia or athletic nutritional status, normal hydration or excess body fluid, for example. Noninvasive and inexpensive measurement of total and regional skeletal muscle is of great practical importance; detailed bo...dy composition analyses have a... -clinical application -research basis -and high-performance use ...on an individual level and have become an important tool in large-scale studies. But a valid body composition measure isn’t easy to obtain because the measurements need to be; -cost-effective -non-invasive -high reproducible -convenient -easy to use. In this context, whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) are considered as valid reference methods however, the use of more simple and inexpensive bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) has become more and more popular, and increasingly accurate based on the latest and updated technology. The new generation of BIA devices provides very high precision and accuracy because of the... -Segmental measurement of arms, legs, and the trunk that could reduce the assumptions about body shape. -Accurate measurement of both resistance and reactance at a spectrum of frequencies from 1 to 1000 kHz. (Huh? Why does this matter? Keep reading, friend!) -Higher precision of posture and contact to electrodes. We’re accepting body composition technology as the new scale and they’re becoming widely used -- but some of them aren't without their flaws as well... We’ve debunked the myths and revealed the truths when it comes to body composition analysis in one of our recent articles -- here's the link to read it and find out what the best body composition technology there is! https://www.bodyinsight.ca//bodycompositionanalysisdebunki

There are some crazy numbers we see at Body Insight, but it’s how our clients lives change that blows us away... I feel more confident than ever before, I finally feel back to my old self and happy in my own skin! I am still continuing to go to the gym but now it’s because I want to be fit and just enjoy it! I know that the key and secret here is not killing yourself for the hours at the gym but to just enjoy life and foods in moderation. Most of all, I’m proud of myself.... I wanted to do this for personal health reasons and wanting to change my life for the better and I am so proud of what I’ve achieved and my new lifestyle. ...I have learned to love myself, enjoy life in all its glory! *cue the tears from our team* The transformations that we see have changed how our clients show up in their life. Yes, the numbers are measurable and empowering. But it’s about how you FEEL in your body. And that makes all the difference in your day-to-day activities and life... and it’s why we do what we do. Does how you feel in your body affect your confidence? We want to hear what you think. Comment below because we're sure you’re not alone! See more
