Happy long weekend Revelstoke! As many may know, I’ve been away due to family illness. Thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding, it’s meant the world to me that I could be with my family at this time. It’s short notice, but I’m back this weekend and have opened up my schedule Sunday to Tuesday, and would absolutely love to get you in if I had to cancel over the last few weeks. With the tightening of restrictions in the BC interior, we are asking that clients are masked for their appointments regardless of vaccination status, please. We enjoyed seeing some of your faces so much over the last while, and hope we can get back to that soon!

Life has its own plans. Karen here; I would like to let clients know that there has been a family health crisis, and I will not be available until after Aug.20 at the earliest. Doesn't it feel good to be moving into Phase Three of re-opening, and seeing so many full smiling faces?! Bodylogic thinks so! However, having reviewed the Health Authorities directives for this phase, as well as listened to our professional governing College, we will still see some masks at Bodylogic for a while. RMT's will still be wearing masks during treatment, and with the exception of fully vaccinated clients who are two weeks past their last shot, we are still strongly recommending masks during treatment. Pre- appointment screening will reflect this soon, thank you for your understanding while we update our online resources. We respect your privacy, and understand that you may not want to answer the screening question about vaccination; in that case we simply ask that you continue to use a mask at the clinic for the time being.

Massage therapy is so much more than just working out the knots, although we love to do that too! When we’re working hands on, we’re often feeling for restriction in your myofascial structure, as well as noticing differences in temperature and blood flow, and the quality of slide and glide between different layers of muscle, connective tissue, and even organs. We have openings as early as tomorrow for new and existing clients! If you were lucky enough to be out enjoying that fresh snow the last few days, perhaps your legs could use a refresh? Or maybe you and shovel were the main interaction with the latest valley bottom snow, in which case your back and shoulders might like a little extra attention. Either way, we've got you covered! Just a quick message to our valued clients and community, that masks are now required for the duration of your appointment at Bodylogic ( If you are medically unable to wear a mask, let us know). As well, we are asking all clients to wait on the bench in the hallway for your RMT to call you in, so that we can ensure social distancing, and have sufficient time for our cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Bodylogic recently welcomed Melanie Shyshko RMT to the clinic. Melanie is available from Thursday to Sunday and would love to welcome new and returning clients. Strict and rather repetitive screening protocols are in place to make every effort to keep our community safe; we thank you for your patience and continued support.

Warm Welcome to our new RMT Melanie Shyshko, who will be joining the clinic very shortly. I am so excited to have Melanie here at the clinic-- she is passionate about both her work and her play, and I think that's perfect fit for Bodylogic! Newly graduated and waiting on her RMT registration process to wrap up, Melanie is offering an introductory price until she is able to add RMT to her billing. One hour massage for $80 and half hour for $40-- similar discounts on longer appointments too. Melanie will have her schedule up shortly and will start work the second week of November.

Hello Revelstoke and beyond! We are missing you, and felt it was time for an update as things get ready to shift for small businesses re-opening in this time of Corona. We hope youve been doing well, and we are really looking forward to rejoining you on your health journey! It appears that Massage Therapy businesses will be allowed to re-open Mid-May, which is just around the corner. While we are waiting for specific information regarding what we changes we will need to have... in place before opening, we are working on all the details to ensure your comfort and safety has been thought about in every aspect. We want you to feel assured that you can receive massage therapy treatments safely, without worry. We expect to have our schedules back up online in the next day or two, pending further information from our Regulatory Body and the Health Minister. We expect that there will be some necessary changes, like limiting the number of people in the clinic at one time, and we will keep you informed as we know. UPDATE: I am writing to let you know that Bodylogic is closing our doors for the remainder of this week, March 17-22 while we monitor the ongoing developments in regards to the Covid-19 virus. We will re-assess based on directives from the Provincial Health Authority as well as the CMTBC, our Regulatory Body, beyond that point. We anticipate that it is highly likely we will be closed for a two week period beginning immediately, however, we will update our clients through our ...online booking email when we have a clearer picture of how to proceed. Please know that our clients health and welfare has always been at the heart of our work, and will continue to be the guiding principle for all future operating decisions. We encourage clients to reschedule their appointments into the start of April, and will remain in contact with all clients as things change. In the interim, please take diligent and compassionate care of yourselves, your families, and your neighbours, as we all navigate this together. In light of the current COVID-19 virus being declared a global pandemic, a short note to our clients that I hope will help everyone navigate the current situation with confidence. First, we want to assure you that we are taking extra precautions around cleaning and sanitizing the office space, treatment rooms, etc. Doorknobs, taps, tables, phones, computers, and desks are all being wiped down frequently with anti-bacterial cleaners. We invite all clients to use the hand sani...tizer on the desk when you enter ( and again when you leave, if you like). We are encouraging anyone who has symptoms of fever, dry cough, or sore throat , and anyone who has been in close proximity to someone with these symptoms, to cancel your appointments. We are waiving all fees for cancellations when they occur for this reason. We also want to encourage you to engage in good self-care, both for yourself, and the community at large.The top recommendations from Medical health professionals are to avoid large crowds, keep washing those hands, and to drink water frequently through the day. (Drinking water and keeping your mouth moist will send any opportunistic viral loads picked up through your mouth, into your stomach, where stomach acids will kill them.) If you choose not to come in for your massage, may we suggest using that time to engage in an enjoyable movement practice, work on some home-care exercises, meditate, or get creative. All these things will give your immune system a boost, just like massage does! Its getting to be that time of year when its hard to find RMT appointment, so I wanted to share that we have a new RMT at Bodylogic who is happily accepting new clients! We are so happy to have Emma Purdon join the team! Shes a newly registered RMT who brings plenty of hands-on experience from both the ski and spa industries. I had a massage from her, and found her style very calm, intuitive, specific, and therapeutic. My often cranky neck felt great and who knew shoulders could live so comfortably that far away from my ears?! Emma is available weekends and weekdays. We thought it was time for an update as a few changes are in motion around Bodylogic. First up, over the next few weeks we will be shifting to a different Point-of-sale system that will require our clients to bring in their credit/debit cards for processing. Second and what were most excited to share is that Emma Purdon RMT is joining the Bodylogic team for the winter season! Emma has experience working in both the spa and Heli-ski industry, and is so excited to start work... that while she waits for her registration number ( any day now!) and gets direct billing lined up, shes put herself on the schedule and is available 5 days a week. Perfect timing, as Karen is going to be out of office from Nov.15- Dec 8th! Karen will also be away from mid-January to the end of February or, if her travels really grab her, to the end of March. She promises that if she leaves, its usually an amazing winter and great ski season ! See more

One of the most fulfilling things I can think of offering in my work is help recovering from concussion and Post-Concussion Syndrome. Having traveled that road to recovery for the past two years has deeply informed my practice and my desire to help others find healing and health after concussion. As the days get shorter and colder and the snow gets lower on the mountains, Sarah and I are seeing an increase in bookings for evening appointments, as well as an increase in clients whove taken a look at their extended health benefits packages and realized they get to come in a few more times before the clock resets in January. Add to that the slowly increasing trickle of newcomers to town for the season, and its starting to get busy around here! We love it!
