Mask Wearing Protocols: There seems to be some confusion about mask wearing. Here are the recommendations we have received from Island Health. Direct Instructions from Island Health: "For gyms and fitness centers, masks must be worn in all common areas and during lower intensity workouts. Patrons undertaking more intense workouts may be unable to wear a mask during these periods. The mask should be replaced as soon as the patron has recovered a normal rate of breathing."... What does this mean? Masks on when: - Walking into the gym - Moving around the gym - Talking to gym members - Cleaning equipment - Moving to your next machine - During low intensity exercise BRIEF exception: - When doing cardio exercise that increases your breathing rate - AS SOON AS your breathing rate is back to normal after this exercise, REPLACE YOUR MASK IMMEDIATELY Questions: Our social media accounts are not checked on weekends and evenings.
