Things keep changing so much. I was forewarned early this year by a fortune teller that this will be a year with a lot of changes. . In order to get through it, I was told to keep my mind open and adapt, or even actively pursue a change. . That was one of the biggest push to change a living environment. It was awesome and the best decision made.... . Going into the second half of the year, I am back to the drawing board and trying to figure out what comes next. . I’m tired tho. What is your favourite style in shi-bari? . This question was presented to me a couple weeks ago. I was a little stutter, not knowing how to answer it. . It’s like asking me about camera gears, photography settings or other technical questions, it’s something that I usually never put my mind into when creating.... . I don’t know there is a style I like per se, simply because I haven’t been practicing this skills for a long duration. . What I do know is I am not overly focus into the aesthetic, but rather the functionality, the energy I try to channel, and the interaction & connection during the process. . Abandonment . Many asked if I’m still photographing b.o.u.d.o.i.r. I struggle with this word because it’s not the transformational experience I provide. I don’t think I make people pretty. Instead, I let them have an avenue to express and channel the energy thru photo. I have viewers who cried looking at my work. . I ended up refer them to my other colleagues. . I’m still photographing, just a more elevated version that’s all. It is for my own passion project. Currently, I am conceptual...izing a new exhibition with the focus of rope bondage. The biggest challenge, as always, is finding the right venue/gallery that willing to represent this collection. Announcement was out 2 days ago that company is having organizational restructuring and there will be people being let go. The coming Tuesday, we just need to sit by our desk and wait. . Today is my first day back to the office, about 6 months since the lock down happened in mid March. . A little throwback of early 2020 when I was busy preparing two exhibitions at the same time, Our Closets and Dirty Laundry during the @exposurephotofestival . . It was a success, until one of the exhibition has to cut it short due to the lockdown started in mid-March. . It did slip my mind wondering if I should organize another show in Feb 2021 giving the current situation. Finding a venue and able to adhere to the Health Services requirement are some of the extra challen...ge and added stress. Throwing reception for show opening definitely would be a big no no during the coldest winter month as well. . The extra challenge is the photo genre that I am already in, it’s marginalized and difficult to find a event host who is willing to sponsor without putting a hefty price tag and/or plenty of restrictive requirement. . I’m really on the fence on this. But if there is a lead or any host who is willing to collaborate, I am all ears. One of the awkward conversations I typically avoid to engage but frequently get asked - photography gears. . I don’t know what’s latest in the market. I don’t collect cameras. I have no knowledge of film.... I don’t know much about mirrorless. Favourite settings? Favourite brand? My speedlights are in the storage. ... the list goes on. . I think the part of photography I enjoy the most are human interaction, the chat, the observation, and the creative process to improvise, depending on what’s in front of the me, and what tools can I use with the gear in hand (Note: tools do not equate to camera gears). . I try my best to travel light and keep things simple. These are all I have in my bag. . Having said that, I need a new bag for my ever extending amount of ropes.
