Please, please read about Bill C-69. Alberta has always been a fair partner in the group of Provinces. We are getting screwed. We are losing billions monthly because of the Liberals. This will affect all provinces.

If you are thinking about paying your mortgage out early, you should read this. The article clearly defines a RDI (Rate Differential Interest) penalty, versus a... 3 month interest penalty. It is interesting to know that 36% of homeowners break their mortgage prior to the end of the actual term. Most are moving up to the next level of housing, or using their equity to invest in real estate. When buying, consider where you want to be in 5 years...then consider a 3 year fixed or variable rate mortgage when choosing a rate and term. If you are taking a five year term, make sure you know the lenders payout policies. If your goals materialize early, it could get very expensive to move forward. See more

Dear people getting mortgages. Banks are documenting you to death...be prepared to open you underwear drawer and show your personal stuff...all of it ...and a blood and urine sample...maybe sell a kidney too. Its long and tedious now. Government rules people...its the new way. Get used to it. They are lending YOU money...YOU want it..YOU follow their rules. Excellent argument from Pat Kelly. Canned answer from the Liberal government. They have no idea what they are doing with the economic situation in our country. 2019 cannot come fast enough.....

The public will suffer with the reduced competition that has resulted from the Liberal governments reckless mortgage rule changes. Perhaps they should have discussed these changes with licensed brokers, instead of the Banks that will profit so much from destroying the Mortgage Broker channel.

BoldBroker 28.01.2020

The Banks are also hoping the changes to the mortgage rules by the Liberal government in October 2016 will destroy the Mortgage Broker industry. Little to no competition will just make them bigger, and reduce homeowner choices. Is that what the public wants? I dont think so...
