Did you know that in order for your marriage to be considered legal there needs to be a promise made? (along with a couple of other legalities of course). Hence the word, VOW, a solemn promise. I absolutely love it when couples write their own vows and I think we will be seeing a lot more couples opt for personal rather than traditional vows especially considering the current circumstances. ... Here's why I love personalized vows so much. It gives you time to really reflect on your love story, your relationship, what you love about that person and, what maybe drives you a little bit crazy but you love them for anyway. It really does give you a lot of insight into why you want to spend forever with that person and that is so special. It gives your guests a deeper look into your love story and I just think that it's such a beautiful moment to share with your people. It's a beautiful keepsake. After my wedding I had our vows written in calligraphy by @bonafidecraft and they hang above our bed with a wedding photo but I also kept the exact pieces of paper Scott and I wrote our vows on and I keep them in a memory box. Every so often I look at them and I can perfectly remember everything about that moment and all the reasons why we decided to get married in the first place. Looking back, it definitely would have been nice to have cute little vow books for us to write on too. But my point is, when you are old and gray, and the memories fade you can be taken back to that exact moment that you made a promise of love in the way that meant something to you both.
