Tomorrow we say goodbye to our Bonchaz bun. At our Hastings location, tomorrow we will be giving away a free Bonchaz bun with any beverage purchase all day long (until supplies last). We will do our absolute best to be stocked throughout the day, to make sure everyone gets to say goodbye to our beloved bun. This giveaway is at our HASTINGS location only. ... Our smaller Main and Broadway location will continue to have the Bonchaz bun for our usual 10:37promotion, for at least a week. Since 2009, we have put in a sincere effort in making our namesake pastry successful. The Bonchaz Bun was an eccentric hybrid of the Mexican concha and the French brioche; it represented a dream to reinvent the familiar, and to push the boundaries of traditional food-service culture. Our hand rolled buns had quickly developed a loyal following since our early Farmers’ Markets days and propelled us into what we are today. Unfortunately, nothing great comes easily. Just like many other local small businesses who have faced similar challenges, we have realized that we can no longer sustainably produce our signature product while maintaining the quality and value our customers have come to expect. Bonchaz loosely translates as ‘to have a good time’. We will continue to offer our casual, unpretentious service, a menu that has something for every diet, and a diverse staff of amazing people who will continue to help us grow. We may have said good bye to the buns that made us, but we will not forget what Bonchaz stands for. #bonchazforever
