What happens if you keep doing what you're doing and change nothing? Three days from now? Three weeks from now? Three months from now? Will symptoms reduce? Get worse? Additional complications? Will you continue to feel confused and uncertain what to do?... The consequences of doing nothing scared the living daylights out of me. My daughter's disease progressing, not being able to get it under control, the long list of meds, secondary diseases, her school, social and confidence being impacted, time in hospital ... That's what motivated me. My first step started with education - knowing what ALL my options were to help reduce flares - natural and medical. Do you know yours? Have you spoken with an autoimmune expert besides your doctor so you have wholistic understanding of autoimmune and that there is actually A LOT you can do to help at home? This is what I do. This is my training and my calling. I educate autoimmune families on their options so they can find relief faster. If you're confused about what works and what doesn't, join me Thursday evening at 8pm EST. I'm hosting my monthly webinar - The 3 Secrets To Finding Relief From Flares ALL Parents of Autoimmune Kids Need To Know. Send me a PM or DM if you want the registration link. See more

THIS visit @angie.alt for details. Posted @withregram @angie.alt Duuuuuuudes! I have something absolutely incredible to share w/ you today & it has been killing me to keep quiet. The results of a sub-study conducted under the original AIP IBD medical study are out, published by the journal, Crohn’s & Colitis 360, and available for everyone to read for free! . This study focused on four participants who were part of the original study and who all had active UC looking... at changes in their mucosal RNA expression during dietary therapy. . The language and study of gene expression is by no means a simple matter, but the long and short of it is that AIP modifies intestinal RNA expression in IBD! Incredible! We have shared highlights from the study, along with access to the full study publication, in our blog post (link in my profile). . As my friend @amedicinalmind said, "You can't say that shit is placebo!" BOOM! This groundbreaking study is scientific validation that dietary and lifestyle protocols, like AIP, can influence our genetic expression! . In the future, with even greater research addressing some of the limitations of these promising early findings, we will be able to change the standard of care for those with autoimmune disease. Your voice and support of this research is making it a reality. Viva la Autoimmune Wellness! See more

Just a thought... and a wonderful repost. I wish I know where to give credit ... it came from FB as anonymous ... but here we go ... As government is trying to figure out how to ease back in to a new normal, please keep in mind no one has ever done this before, so please remember: Some people don’t agree with businesses opening.... that’s okay. Be kind.... Some people are still planning to stay home.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening....that’s okay. Be kind. Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may not lose their business or their homes....that’s okay. Be kind. Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will wear masks for weeks....that’s okay. Be kind. Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that’s okay. Be kind. The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s okay. Be kind. We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, do it. Or if you need go out, just respect others when in public. Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story. We all are in different mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind. Please copy and share this reminder for kindness. I did! See more

Let me know below if you're Camp A or Camp B. Or maybe ABC - a little bit of everything? This is a bit of a personal post because I feel like there is a bit of a divide. Camp A - Those who are able to use this great "pause" as an opportunity to really dig into self-care and diet. It's a nice place to be.... Camp B - And there are those who are struggling. It's uncomfortable. And perhaps you're even flaring. You're suddenly working from home when your home is not set up for that. Or perhaps you're suddenly without a job? You've got family members living on top of one another with no personal space - or maybe you're on your own and not able to connect with your usual peeps. Perhaps partners or teens are demanding junk food (or ubereating ice cream in like my family did) and you're having a hard time getting your usual grocery supplies. You're suddenly in charge of home school plus all your other responsibilities. Or perhaps you're an essential worker, and while we all thank you and are so appreciative, it doesn't take away the fear. Personally, I hover between both camps. I feel fortunate that my family actually likes each other. Seriously, that's a huge bonus. That said, this is hard. The feelings are raw and real. And they change day to day. So can physical symptoms which are so closely intertwined with the nervous system. Personally, I find it helps to have a goal, support to see it through, and a little self compassion. Im thankful that I have an amazing coach to help me navigate these murky waters. So, let me know below if you're Camp A, B or both. Just put an A, B or C below. This way, I know how to support you going forward. With gratitude, Vanessa See more

How's your mood and digestion these days? I mean it's really hard being indoors day after day. Or heading to work as an essential service. Or suddenly working from home while also being in charge of home schooling. Or maybe being alone? Boredom, worry and stress. And perhaps a diet that is "easy" and not "ideal"? It can take a toll. Especially if you have an autoimmune. ... Stomach aches, gas and bloat. Heart burn. Embarrassing bathroom habits ... or days without seeing the throne. Has anyone given you the scoop on your poop and how stress has a direct impact on your inner Owl? You see, your enteric nervous system is your second brain. It's located in and around your intestines and home to over a million neurotransmitters responsible for mood and thoughts. That's more than your spine! Our thoughts influence our digestive health and our digestive health influences our thoughts. Sugars and certain carbohydrates can make the situation worse. One way to find relief is to test a low FODMAP diet. In some people, certain sugars and fibres contribute to build up of solids, gases and liquids in the small intestines. A low FODMAP diet removes key culprits so you can find some RELIEF and figure out what to do next. If you're curious about whether or not a low FODMAP approach is right for you, let's chat. I offer free 15 minute consults.
