For children 18 yrs and younger: Effective November 2/20 AHS has taken "runny nose" and "sore throat" OFF the list of symptoms that must isolate. Symptoms that are possible symptoms and must isolate:... -fever -cough -shortness of breath -loss of taste and smell If a child is experiencing only one of those symptoms they should stay home and monitor for 24 hours. If their condition improves. testing isn't required and once they feel better and the symptom has disappeared, they can return to child care. HOWEVER: If a child has more than one symptom they should stay home and be tested. Information can be found on Alberta Health Services website. **Note that this one symptom guidance applies only to children who have not had contact with a confirmed case.**
