Bonnyville Immigration Services Inc. 29.01.2021

Lately, I received hundreds of messages, phone calls and emails, mostly from Bangladesh, inquiring about Canadian immigration programs that do not exist. Consum...ers of immigration services, specially in Bangladesh, are so much tempted by extravagant advertisements on social media. Fraudsters are providing fabricated information on Canadian immigration programs to lure general people to skim off money. They operate mostly in the form of immigration consulting businesses in posh office settings and in prime locations of Dhaka and other major cities in Bangladesh. They have expensive offices to show off their legitimacy. Fraudsters are being creative in coming up with new streams of immigration programs, that do not exist, but appear to be so legitimate to the public. Be aware of those fake programs and false claims. Some of the examples are below: FALSE CLAIM 1: We shall send your child or children to primary or secondary school in Canada. You, as parents, are automatically entitled to Work Permits. Therefore, your full family is getting a chance to settle in Canada. No doubts it is a FRAUD. Canadian immigration law and its regulations do not automatically grant parents work permits as accompanying guardians of minor child. Let us look into this from practical standpoint. Canadian post-secondary institutions Universities and Colleges accept large numbers of international students every year. In contrast, elementary and secondary school boards in Canada receive very LIMITED NUMBER of international students because of their provincial education policies, and truly small capacity. If a consulting firm in Bangladesh guarantees you a place in elementary or secondary school for your child and your whole family’s visa, take this as a FRAUD claim. What they told you is a BIG lie. STAY AWAY FROM THOSE CONSULTING FIRMS to protect yourself. FALSE CLAIM 2: We shall help you buy a property in Canada and you will get permanent residency. We are developing properties in different major cities in Canada. Invest $500,000 Canadian dollars to buy a property in Canada, we are guaranteeing your family Canadian permanent residency. It’s absolutely a BOGUS claim. Canada does not have such kind of immigration program. If you want to throw away your money, throw it into the river Buriganga. Do not hand out your hard-earned money to the fraudsters. FALSE CLAIM 3: Immigration/Study Permit/Work Permit without IELTS. It is absolutely a FRAUD claim. All economic class immigration regardless federal, provincial, or pilot programs, proof of English or French ability is a MUST for permanent residence application. Temporary resident visas such as study permit, or work permit application requires you to prove your English ability. If you do not have IELTS, you are not meeting the requirements of those programs. Many people in Bangladesh fear that they cannot score high enough in IELTS tests and therefore look for immigration opportunity without IELTS. Fraudsters take advantages of these people and dupe them by fake advertisements and fake promises. If consulting firms in Bangladesh guarantees you your immigration, study permit or work permit without IELTS, kick them hard on their butts. Do not become a victim. FALSE CALIM 4: Canada is taking 400,000 people from Bangladesh every year. We can send you to Canada so easily. This sounds so real and true possibility. THIS IS THE BIGGEST LIE EVER! The truth is: Canadian government announces its Immigration Level Plan every year and fraudsters promote that announcement in a fabricated manner to mislead public. The numbers in the government plan include all classes of immigration programs such as economic class, family class, refugees, humanitarian and compassionate. The number of people Canadian government will grant immigration are from inside and outside Canada, from the whole world, NOT JUST FROM BANGLADESH. Don’t you just think Canada will let you in just like that. You must qualify for an immigration program to be able to immigrate to this country. THERE IS NO SHORTCUT or NO MASS IMMIGRATION FOR YOU TO SNEAK IN. FALSE CLAIM 5: No visa, no money. You don’t have to pay any money in advance. Pay two million taka once you reach Canada. Think twice, thrice or ten times before you believe in what fraudsters are promising you. Canadian visas are not for sale. You cannot buy a Canadian visa. Fraudsters tell you that they have link with people inside visa office or with some people/organizations in Canada and with their power they will be able to get you a visa. This is another BIG LIE. No one in Bangladesh or in the rest of the world has influence over visa application decision making. Canadian visa officers follow the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its Regulations, and relevant policies, instructions, and guides. So DO NOT believe in what they are telling you. Also, think why the fraudsters are putting all the efforts to get you a Canadian visa without having any money from you. They are not such stupid! They are after your money, really big amount, and you will never see Canada. FALSE CLAIM 6: We are flying you to Mumbai, Kolkata, or Delhi and keeping you in hotels at no cost to you. Your visa will be issued in India. Then you will take a flight from there to Canada. FALSE CLAIM 5 and 6 are related and are extremely DANGEROUS. You will not only lose all your money, but you may also be seriously harmed. This method fraudsters use as part of their organized crime spread over India and Bangladesh. When they offer you this and you accepted the offer- you certainly have become a victim of fraud and fraudsters will suck your and your family’s money to the very last penny. Please do your homework before you take their immigration service. Bangladesh falls under the designated Canadian Visa Office in Singapore. All applications from Bangladesh are processed in Singapore, not in India. So, when fraudsters are flying you to India, you know your Canadian dream is finished! FALSE CLAIM 7: If you have bachelor’s degree, 2 years work experience, and IELTS 6, we are guaranteeing your PR using Express Entry. It is extremely FRAUD. Express Entry is a mathematics game! Unless your score is high in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), you will not get a chance to apply for your PR. Practically, a very few, truly few numbers of people from Bangladesh can score high enough in CRS calculation to get a chance. Whereas fraudsters in Bangladesh advertise massively on social media to attract large number of interested candidates. They hide the reality and show how easy it is to qualify for Express Entry to immigrate to Canada. They would qualify anybody who walks in their doors and ask to open immigration file for 65,000 tk., approx. Canadian $1,000. Fraudsters are on a volume game here. They rip off hundreds of thousands of people collecting $1000 from each one of them as first installment and make millions of dollars. They do not stop there, they keep calling their clients who signed up with them, for second, third, fourth or fifth installments. You will never be able to immigrate to Canada by just meeting minimum requirements. So, stay away from those consulting firms who is promising you PR with just meeting minimum requirements. FALSE CLAIM 8: We shall help you immigrate to Canada using AIPP, RNIP, Saskatchewan PNP because they are much easier than other programs, require very-lor or no IELTS, and we have connections with businesses in those provinces to get you a job offer. Do not fall in the trap! There is no such thing as easy immigration to Canada. All programs have their own set of requirements and a candidate must meet those requirements to be able to apply. Most PNP and pilot programs require a job offer from an eligible employer in those provinces. Fraudsters are smart! They know exactly what the requirements are and can easily deceive people presenting fabricated information and fake job offers. Remember, all pilot programs or PNPs fall under economic class immigration and therefore a candidate must meet English ability requirement, meaning No IELTS, No immigration. About job offers, no Canadian employers will offer you a job without an interview. So, when fraudsters present you a job offer, it is undoubtedly a fake one. FALSE CLAIM 9: We got you a job at a gas station (Petrol Pump), an agriculture farm, a convenient store, a hotel, a restaurant, or a cleaning company. You can verify your job on employer’s website using your name, passport number, date of birth, etc. Hey, once again, I must say fraudsters are smart! They create a fake website, enter all your information on the website, then show you your name and details appearing on employer’s website. Now a days, anybody can build a website cheap or free of cost. Candidates become happy to see their name as an employee on employer’s website, feel the job offer is legitimate, and give the fraudsters large sums of money. I have seen some of those fake offers. Fraudsters try to write the job offer in such a way and try to give it a realistic look that can be used to deceive people easily. Please be aware of those fake job offers. The only way you know your job offer is genuine is you have applied for a job on Canadian job bank or using job portals in pilot programs and were interviewed by the employer. For the above job offers, employers in Canada are required to obtain a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) before they can offer you the job. So, don’t be duped by fake job offers given to you by fraudsters. Job offers are employer-driven process and no fraudsters can get you any job offers. FALSE CLAIM 10: We process your work permit application including your family’s visa within two weeks under Global Talent Stream (GTS) and fly you to Canada. You feel incredible! Oh, what an incredible opportunity! I must take this consulting firm’s services. They know so much and will send me to Canada in two weeks. The Global Talent Stream is a genuine program indeed, but the fraudsters are proving you misleading information to rip you off. The program is for Canadian employers to fill their specific positions (there is actually a list of eligible occupations not every job is eligible) quickly by a foreign worker. No consulting firms in Bangladesh can get you a job under Global Talent Stream. It is strictly an employer-driven process! Employers follow the right processes to hire a foreign national directly by themselves or use licensed recruiters and may outsource work permit piece to a Canadian immigration lawyer/consultant. I have seen many technology companies in Canada use this program to quickly fill their vacant positions (eligible occupations). So, don’t be a victim of fraud by listening to the fraudsters in Bangladesh. FALSE CLAIM 11: We work with Canadian immigration lawyers and licensed immigration consultants. Your file will be processed by them. Oh boy! This is another BIG LIE. You have never spoken to your Canadian immigration lawyer or consultant directly, you do not know them, you do not know their name, you and the lawyer/consultant never have singed any Retainer Agreement to processes your file. You only know the front executive in the consulting firm who convinced you to open your file. Do you still believe that your file is being processed by a Canadian lawyer/consultant? Forget it. You probably have signed a contract that is between you and the consulting firm or fraudsters used an electronic image of a signature of a Canadian lawyer/consultant on the contract. Fraudsters are selling the names and faces of Canadian immigration lawyer/consultant to you like crazy. You are thinking your file is being processed by a Canadian lawyer/consultant. Actually, they even do not know about your case. When you walk in the reception area of a consulting firm in Bangladesh, you will notice visa stickers with personal information are displayed on a wall as proof of their success. This is a serious violation of information protection law. Stay away from these consulting firms in Bangladesh to protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud. THIS IS HOW YOU PROTECT YOURSELF: Visit Canadian government website https://www.canada.ca//servic/immigration-citizenship.html, learn about immigration programs, and apply by yourself. If you feel you may make mistake and your chance could be in jeopardy, then get help from a licensed immigration practitioner. They are called Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and immigration lawyers. You can find a RCIC from the public registry posted on ICCRC website here https://iccrc-crcic.ca/find-a-professional/. You may want to search Consultants Directory on MyConsultants.ca here https://www.myconsultant.ca/EN/Consultants. Pick some RCICs from the list and do your research about them. Book an INITIAL CONSULTATION with one you like the most. Talk to the RCIC directly in Canada. Do not have anybody in between you and the RCIC. In today’s online driven world, it’s easy to locate a legitimate Immigration Consultant and book an appointment directly with him/her. Most Licensed Immigration Consultants or Lawyers in Canada charge a fee for Initial Consultation which may range between $200-$300 and offers 45-60 mins to discuss your case. I charge $200 plus 5% GST for 60 min Initial Consultation and deliver consultation using a convenient video calling App such a Google Meet, Zoom, Skype, or WhatsApp. Most people in Bangladesh do not want to pay for Initial Consultation to receive genuine advice. They are willing pay two million Takas to a fraudster risking losing it all than paying $200 to a licensed Immigration Consultant to receive genuine advice and to protect themselves. They feel $200 is too expensive to pay just for the advice. What I can say, spending $200-$300 on a genuine Initial Consultation is undoubtedly worthwhile and will protect your Canadian dream. You have the courage to dream of immigrating to Canada and have the ability to make it a reality. Do not break your dream by just going to an unauthorized or fake immigration firm. Book an appointment directly with a genuine, Licensed Immigration Consultant or Lawyer to discuss your case. For the purpose of providing immigration advice, a Licensed Immigration Consultant will ask you to review and sign Initial Consultation Agreement. If you decide to take the services of that Immigration Consultant, you and the immigration consultant must sign an agreement, called Retainer Agreement that is govern by Canadian law. Once again, I strongly encourage you to interact directly with a RCIC; do not allow any intermediary or agent or middleman between you and RCIC. Your chances of protecting your Canadian dream will be much higher. This article is an opinion of my own and I have written it from my recent observation and experience. By no means, this post represents opinion of any organization, government, or regulatory bodies. Always consult IRCC website and ICCRC website for relevant pieces of laws and regulations. This pandemic proved that humans are resilient, and genius in adapting to new environments for their survival. In 2020, we all have been through tough times. We all know that tough times never last, tough people do. As humans, collectively we are tough, we shall last. Life moves on. I just want to reflect on how my year of 2020 has been. This is the time to reflect, be thankful and celebrate the Holiday season. I am thankful that I am alive. I am thankful that I have been abl...e to help my clients achieve their goals. In 2020, I was able to help some refugees settle in Canada, a country they call it a safe heaven. I saw tears of joy and massive relief in their eyes when their claims were accepted. Those tears of joy meant a lot to me. I am thankful that I was able to help reunite a Calgary father with his 21-year-old daughter he did not know existed. I was able to reunite dozens of families through spousal sponsorship, dependent child sponsorship, orphaned relatives, adoption, and parents and grandparents program. My clients gave birth to their children inside and outside Canada. I helped process all children’s Canadian citizenship applications. Despite pandemic, some of my single-status clients got married in 2020 and started their new families. I helped several senior citizens to obtain their immigration documents to access their healthcare and pension. I helped numerous clients resolve immigration issues caused by COVID-19 travel restrictions and processing delays. I cannot list all my achievements here. What I certainly can say that 2020 has been quite the year for me for learning, adapting, and doing business in the new normal environment. From Bonnyville Immigration Services Inc. we are sending love and holiday wishes from our bubble to yours. Happy holidays!

This is a powerful infographic published by Statistics Canada Census 2016 that tells us how important immigrants are to Canada’s health Care sector. Immigrants account for 1 out of every 4 health-care sector workers. Immigrants make up 36% of all pharmacists and family physicians across Canada, as well as 39% of all dentists, 27% of all licensed practical nurses and 35% of nurse aides and related occupations. More than 40% of all newcomers to Canada between 2011 and 2016 who ...were working in the health-care sector were employed in the important areas of nursing and residential care facilities, as well as home health-care services. Almost 500,000 workers in the health-care sector are over the age of 55, and most of these will be retiring in the next decade or so. There is a clear opportunity for immigrants to play an important role in ensuring there are enough people working in the health-care sector. If you work in healthcare occupation and would like to work in Canada, please feel free to contact me at +1-403-805-0007 or email me at [email protected]. See more

Today, Minister Mendicino announced the interpretation of parent for applications of citizenship by descent has now been modified to include legal parents at birth, as well as biological parentage. With the new interpretation of parent, both biological and non-biological Canadian parents who are recognized as their child’s legal parent at birth can now equally pass down Canadian citizenship to their children born abroad in the first generation. This new interpretation wil...l be helpful in cases where children are born abroad to parents who have relied on assisted human reproduction to build their families, in particular, members of the LGBTQ2+ community and Canadians with fertility issues.
