An update from the province this afternoon in regards to the increase in active cases of COVID-19. Watch list communities include Smoky Lake County, the County of St Paul, MD of Bonnyville, and City of Cold Lake.
Boyle RCMP investigate fatal collision Boyle, Alta. - On Nov. 20, 2020 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Boyle RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 63 south of Highway 663. Preliminary investigation revealed a northbound semi-tractor trailer unit was travelling on Highway 63 when a head on collision occurred with a southbound semi-tractor trailer unit.... Both male drivers of each vehicle, (32) and (49) from Edmonton, were pronounced deceased at the scene. An adult male passenger in the southbound semi-tractor trailer unit suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. Boyle RCMP along with a RCMP Collision analyst continue to investigate. No further updates are anticipated and the names of the deceased will not be released.
Lac La Biche RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in locating 25-year-old Keisha Monias. Keisha was last seen in Lac La Biche on Oct. 31, 2020. There is concern for her safety and well-being and police would like to speak with her. Keisha is described as: -5'7" ... -119 lbs -Brown hair -Brown eyes Keisha maybe in the Edmonton area. RCMP RELEASE: Lac La Biche RCMP along with the RCMP Emergency Response Team and RCMP Air Services are currently on scene searching for an wanted male near Range Road 162 and Township Road 670 south of Plamondon in a rural area. Police are looking for the male who fled into a wooded area after a pursuit with police late last night. The male is considered as armed and dangerous and should not be approached. ... Residents have been evacuated as a precaution by police while a search of the immediate wooded area is being conducted. Darren Larose (35) of Caslan, Alta., is described as: -Indigenous -5’11, approximately 200 lbs -Black braided hair and brown eyes -Tattoo under right eye - Wearing dark pants and a sweater Citizens are asked to avoid the area and contact Lac La Biche RCMP at 780-404-2500 if they see anything suspicious or anyone hitch hiking in the area near Highway 55. The RCMP will provide an update as more information becomes available. We ask that no police activities be posted on social media as a matter of police safety.
