It's been challenging to recreate my live interactive presentation over ZOOM but thanks to a lot of new tech, (and help from some really smart people) I have found a way. If you have a team that needs to reconnect, re-engage and more importantly, remember what it's like to have some fun together I have just the program. In many ways, its even more robust than what I could offer in-person and will do wonders for your teams mental health and well being. Don't wait, let's talk today. 416-767-3786

A star-crossed Juliette America could not tolerate... At Salle Pleyel (Paris) in 1949, Miles Davis, 22, backstage met his great love Juliette Greco, 22, a bohem...ian who had been detained by Gestapo at 16. Her mom was a resistor. Greco introduced Miles to Picasso and Jean Paul Sartre. She later introduced Louis Malle in 1957. Miles loved being respected in Paris like no Black artist was in America. Paris saw Miles as the ‘Picasso of Jazz.’ I had never felt that way in my life. It was the freedom of being in France and being treated like a human being, like someone important. Even the band and the music we played sounded better over there. Even the smells were different. I got used to the smell of cologne in Paris and the smell of Paris was a kind of coffee smell. When Greco got famous as a singer and came to New York City, she invited Miles to dinner at the Waldorf Astoria. They were refused service for 2 hours and the plates were slammed on their table. He called her later in tears and said, he never wanted to see her in America again, only in France or elsewhere. Said Greco on the incident, "a strange feeling of humiliation that I’ll never forget. In America, his color was made blatantly obvious to me, whereas in Paris, I didn’t even notice he was black. Olympics star Jesse Owens in 1936 had also been humiliated at Waldorf Astoria being asked to use the service elevator to access a dinner in his honor. Miles was deeply in love with Greco. Sarte could tell and asked why Miles did not marry Juliette. Miles replied he loved Juliette too much to marry her. In America, she would be seen as a ‘negro’s whore,’ he said, and inter-racial marriage would destroy her career. Juliette was probably the first woman that I had loved as an equal human being. She was a beautiful person. We had to communicate with each other through expressions and body language It was April in Paris (1949). Yeah, I was in love. California only just legalized mixed marriages in 1948. It was still illegal in 28 States.

See what level of teamwork this group achieved after spending time learning how to listen and collaborate better. These people are not musicians - or are they? https://youtu.be/0mwamsLIHIs

It was a beautiful summer day and this team wanted to do something special for their company offsite. It's funny, I hardly ever get to do this outside but they did it old school. A place in a park. I rolled my cart of drums where cars could not go. Hear what they have to say about the experience... http://bit.ly/2kKV5rn

I was just on the Creative Spin Podcast with Jamie Iria and talked about how I managed to keep my passion for music alive through a career that has gone from small town drummer to global corporate speaker. If you’re curious about how to keep your passion for what you love to do alive through a changing career, see the Youtube video here: http://bit.ly/2XFkPm3 or listen on iTunes: https://apple.co/32gHh8N
