May is Matcha Month at Booster Juice, so we wanted to share our #MatchaStory! We pride ourselves on serving only premium products and our Matcha is no exception! Our Matcha is handpicked in Japan. Our green tea goes through five steps before it can be enjoyed in one of our products or at home that’s right, we sell Matcha in store for you to use at home! Step one is tea plantation. Our tea plantations designated for Matcha are completely shaded for about 20 days using a la...rge overhead framework of reed screens and rice straw. This serves to shut out the direct sunlight and to reduce the rate of photosynthesis, resulting in high levels of theanine, the amino acid responsible for the full-bodied flavor of the Matcha.
