In case you are wondering where our drop off box for Toque-tober, Share the Warmth This Winter is located at the LloydMall, it is hiding behind the Directory Board at the main entrance, just east of the Shoppers’ mall access door.
As we welcome October and enjoy the scenery of Fall (or Winter, whichever comes first), we would like to bring back our "Share the Warmth Project" as our year-end off-court activity. Just after the Halloween last year, we partnered with several businesses in town for the "200 Blankets, Share the Warmth of Christmas". This particular blanket drive has seen us gather more than 300 bedding sheets for the Lloydminster Social Action Coalition. This year, we have partnered with Yo...u & I Massage Therapy - Lloydminster, LloydMall, FILETAXHERE and Canada Assist Immigration Services as our drop-off points to our "Share the Warmth This Winter, TOQUE-tober Fest", which aims to collect beanies/touqes (or even mittens) for the Lloydminster Men's Shelter Client Dormitory and its soon-to-open Community Services Warming Centre. The warming centre will be a permanent fixture to help out men, women and children in need of food, clothing, and temporary warming place during the cold months. This beanie drive will start from the 1st to the eve of Halloween this year and all donations will be handed to the Men’s Shelter at the end of the event. If you want to be a drop off location or you want to donate new or even old beanies, you can get a hold of us or drop them off to the above-mentioned locations.
Looks like our area will get its first snowfall sometime early morning tomorrow! Mother Nature is poised for a first serve ace on the T-Line. Give yourselves enough time to prepare in the morning when you are heading out for work. Share the road with other motorists. Keep a good driving distance between your car and the vehicle ahead of you. Keep warm.. ... Be safe.. Be sound.. See more
