Tutti Frutti. Coral Charm peonies starring in this juicy bouquet. If you are local to me or in Edmonton, this bouquet could be yours for as little as $10! I'm raffling off this beauty with all proceeds going to our local women's shelter. Each ticket is one entry and you can buy multiples to increase your odds. Tickets are available in my shop. I will draw the winner Sunday morning. Please share if you are in the lakeland or YEG. Thank you!

Bouquets are live in my shop! Prices run from $100-$200. They are expensive, yes. A lot of stems and love went into each one and they are meant to last. For local people, pickup is from my place. Text me to make arrangements 780 815 2263. I will be making a few more before Sunday, but the cold weather has me working at the pace of 1 a day. I work outside in a drafty shed!! I will share when I update the shop. As always, thank you for your support of local, earth friendly flowers.

Valentine's dried floral bouquets will be available in my shop starting Thursday. These special bouquets last at least a year and can be a lovely keepsake for yourself or a special someone. Each one contains around 70 stems featuring premium flowers like peonies, ranunculus and lisianthus. It takes me over an hour to create each one but I love seeing them go from inspiration to finished product. I'll be out in my cold studio, designing more this week, and will share another sneak peak before the online shop opens. Stay warm friends, the polar vortex looks to be gone by the weekend!!

Some of the pretty things I've made this month. I'll be offering dried florals for your Valentine/Galentine again this year so you can treat yourself or your loved one in a way that is beautiful, seasonal and kind to the earth. I've saved some special flowers like peonies, ranunculus and lisianthus to mix into these bouquets. Bouquets will be sold through my website for local pickup or delivery. Edmonton meet ups are also possible later in February. I'm breaking into my stash of plant dyed ribbon for the occasion. Bouquets can be finished with some beautiful silk ribbon for an extra charge. I'll post the sale date and more information next week!

Still looking for a gift for those amazing teachers in your life? I've put together a couple of bundles perfect for saying thank you to our teachers, who have juggled their lives and dealt with so much stress this year. Each bundle is a hand salve (either lavender or sage) and a blue dried flower glass ornament. It comes wrapped ready for giving in a gift bag and just needs your note to personalize it. If you need notecards for thank yous, I've still got lots in my shop. Find everything in my shop at www.borealblooms.ca

Some flowers for a snowy Sunday. I wrote a review of 2020 (good riddance!) and my forecast for 2021 over on my blog. I talk about small weddings and elopements, dried flowers, consumers connecting with local growers and yellow. Let me know what you think! I'm keeping busy sowing seeds and planning my 8th season of growing flowers. Watching little sprouts emerge is good therapy for these weird times. I hope you are keeping well and look forward to sharing my flowers with you all again.

My Christmas collection is live on my website! I had hoped to launch it December 1st but there was an ordering error on my part involving math (don't ask!). All good now! On my website you'll find my glass flower ornaments in 6 colours, my hand salve in lavender and white sage, small sachets of my lavender for your sweater drawer and a new product I'm so happy to share- notecards featuring beautiful photos of my flowers by Megan Timm. Everything is $30 or under. I hope you'll find something for all your loved ones on your list.

I'm busy working on a selection of Christmas offerings, perfect if you're looking for local gifts this season. Everything will be $30 and under, great for gift exchanges and stocking stuffers. I expect to launch them December 1st. In the meantime, I've written a blog post about caring for your dried flowers, for those who bought a bouquet at our Winter Artisan market two weeks ago. I hope you find it helpful. The sun is out today after so many grey days. I'm bundling up and hitting the woods this afternoon before the clouds roll back in. Stay healthy everyone!

For the first time since early April, I'm looking at my week and not seeing any garden projects to do. A nice layer of snow has fallen, covering all the plantings my team finished last week and now the garden sleeps. I started reading a novel yesterday, a luxury I haven't had time for since last winter. I chopped vegetables, stirred bechamel, boiled noodles and baked a lasagne, happily spending two hours on the project. I went snowshoeing with Callum. I remembered why winter, despite the cold, really is great. Oh, all those colourful bouquets I made last week? Guess what sold the fastest? All white! Maybe you all love winter as much as I do.

Mood . I'm feeling such gratitude for my community today, who came out in a freaking blizzard and supported me and my talented friends at the market today. Thank you for your Canadian politeness, patience and care for others that you demonstrated today. It showed me that artists can still have in person events safely, and have that connection with our customers. I know I have missed that so much this year. Judging by the line, I'd say people are missing these kind of markets as well. You all made this my best market EVER. I can't thank you enough. (socially distanced air kiss) I'm taking a short break but will be back in December with a selection of stocking stuffers: hand salve, glass ornaments and more.
