Borealis Wind has developed a wind turbine blade de-icing retrofit that is simple to install and maintain. It is able to reclaim 80% of the power that would have otherwise been lost to icing downtime. One of the inaugural CDL-Atlantic graduating ventures.

UBC graduate founded Borealis Wind took home the top prize at the Energy New Venture Competition in the venture stream for their de-icing technique.
