Happy Sunday! New arrivals of Tillandsia air plants this week Tillandsias are beautiful, sculptural and intriguing plants that make the most beautiful living decor objects for your spaces, whether it’s at home, at the office or even in a classroom. Their characteristics allows them to lift the look of a space without necessarily having a base or support Tillandsias get the majority of their nutrients from the air surrounding them. They don’t need soil to thrive; they only nee...d a nicely ventilated area; abundant indirect sunlight and weekly soaking bath or misting. So easy care that’s why we adore them! . . . . . @tracey.jazmin #botanifulyeg #botaniful #plantloft #yeglocal #letsjunglize #airplantsvibes #airplantsofinstagram #airplants #airplantsdecor #plantstyling #greenery #jungalowstyle #planteriordesign #modernbohemian #mycurrentdesignsituation #plantsmakepeoplehappy #designyourspaces See more

Fellow plant lovers! Let’s talk about soil medias and the right pot size for your plants Not all soil media are equal and not all plants love the same soil mix. Some like it dense because they love staying damp, some like it sandy because they like to be on the drier side, some like it chunky. When not sure what type of soil is the right one for your plant, do a bit a research online. There’s so many variations online that you can choose from. We will come up with a perfect... mix for each plant types so stay tune! Our favourite soil mix are Pro-mix tropical/ potting mix soil or our Sunshine soil mix. They are good as is, but we like to get more fancy and add a mixture of these depending on the type of plant we are working with - perlite: adding perlite to your soil mix provides you with two primary advantages drainage and aeration - orchid bark: the chunky nature of the bark makes it fantastic at aerating soil, resisting compaction and providing drainage in a substrate mix. Increases water retention to a degree, which it turn helps to boost ambient humidity - charcoal: acts as an excellent soil conditioner, thanks to its high potassium content. The substance rids the soil of impurities, repels insects, and prevents mold and odors - vermiculite: improves aeration of the soil, promotes a consistent release of added fertilizer and improves moisture retention of the soil - Peat moss: holds several times its weight in moisture, and releases the moisture to the plants roots as needed. It also holds onto nutrients so that they aren't rinsed out of the soil when you water the plant When you decide to repot your plant, the rule of thumb is not not go any larger than 2 inch in pot size and at most 4-6 bigger for floor plants. Before you repot your plant in a bigger pot, check the roots to make sure it’s ready and full. In a too-large pot, soil dries slowly, making your plant more susceptible to root rot. In a too-small pot, soil dries so quickly that you'll be challenged to water frequently enough. Your plant could become root-bound and exhibit stunted growth Happy planting!

Hello boho lovers, pampas grass are in! They are our favourite ornamental grass, to give your home that boho feel. Although pampas grass is dried and generally low maintenance, it sheds like crazy when not properly conditioned Before bringing pampas grass into your home, give each reed a good shake, allowing excess plume shedding to occur. Cut, arrange and style your plume in a vase. Once you’ve styled each plume to your liking, grab a high-hold hairspray and give them a gene...rous misting. This will ensure the stands stay put and helps to keep shedding at bay! To maintain your plumes, re-spray every six months to help maintain fullness . . . . . @tracey.jazmin #botanifulyeg #botaniful #plantloft #yeglocal #letsjunglize #plantvibes #plantlove #plantdecor #plantstyling #greenery #jungalowstyle #planteriordesign #modernbohemian #mycurrentdesignsituation #plantsmakepeoplehappy #designyourspaces #pampasgrass #pampasgrassdecor #ornamentalgrass #bohovibes See more

Happy Monday! It’s been a while since we’ve given some attention to our dearest Maurice. He’s so happy sitting here welcoming all of you coming into the shop! Monstera grow best and the leaves grow fenestrations (or splits) more readily when they get proper, very bright, but mostly indirect light Those of you who have a young monstera with little to no fenestration not to be discouraged! It generally takes monstera deliciosa a few years of growth to get mature enough to add ...that fantastic bit of artist flare to their leaves . . . . . @tracey.jazmin #botanifulyeg #botaniful #plantloft #yeglocal #letsjunglize #plantvibes #plantlove #plantdecor #plantstyling #greenery #jungalowstyle #planteriordesign #modernbohemian #mycurrentdesignsituation #plantsmakepeoplehappy #monsteramonday #happymonday #monstera #monsteradeliciosa See more

We love this plant because no two leaves are marked the same. The Philodendron Birkin is a rare gorgeous houseplant with dark green oval-shaped glossy leaves. The beautiful leaves are variegated streaked with creamy white to yellow pinstripes stripes Birkin changes its look over time. Starting life as an all-green juvenile, birkin develops its sophisticated striping with maturity. And after it does, this stunning variegation might remind you more and more of a calathea or ma...ranta in its pattern. The pattern is so intriguing, It’s like the garden gods took a paintbrush across the leaves . . . . . Hello spidey! How striking you are! Those white stripes against the dark green leaves are just stunning. The Reverse Stripe Spider Plant, also known as Chlorophytum Comosum Reverse Variegatum, is similar to the common spider plant we all know and love, however it's colours are simply reversed! Spider plants originate from South Africa and were introduced to the Victorian households in England during the 19th century Spider plant is most effective in removing carbon monoxide..., formaldehyde, xylene and toluene according to NASA Clean Air Study. There are claims that spider plant removes more than 95 percent of toxic agents from the air, and they’ve naturally increase the indoor oxygen levels Fortunately, one of the best spider plant benefits is, it is pet safe! . . . . .
