The pandemic has forced us to re-consider some long-held truths. E.g. Why do we keep imprisoning so many people? "A bigger question is imprisonment itself. Canada puts convicted people behind bars at a lower rate than the United States, but at a far higher rate than most European countries. Why? The goal is not to coddle criminals or ignore crime. It’s to find better ways to help offenders many of whom come out of difficult circumstances become law-abiding citizens, find employment and live as good neighbours."

Incredible initiative by Bottos Law counsel, Peter Sankoff! Peter has been working tirelessly for the past number of weeks, arranging paid internships for law students across the country. Many of these students lost summer internships and placements due to the pandemic. Please consider giving to the project. Even a small donation goes a long way!
