Planting continues My part is driving the tractor and keeping it straight.

Our Saskatoons were hit with a pathogen fall of 2018 and, at that time, we had to cut the Saskatoons down to the ground, cover with a thick layer of straw and then burn the straw down to the ground so as to burn the pathogen off and not allow it to get into the roots of the Saskatoons. This year, we are looking for the new growth beginning and will be watching the Saskatoons very closely going forward. In saying that, we have NO Saskatoons this year. We are probably l...ooking at a return to picking in summer 2021. The other fruit we have - raspberries and strawberries, we are still working on these crops and at this time, they are not ready or available for picking. I will post on here as to when/if the raspberries and strawberries come ready. Sorry for any inconvenience and we will miss our awesome customers. I always love visiting with you all. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Denise & Bob Bott
Wanted to give an update on the Saskatoon orchard. As you know we got fire blight which is a pathogen (virus). So we had to cut the trees down, cover them with a layer of straw and burn the straw. We are praying that next year we will see some green coming up and in 3 years time we will have Saskatoons again. Before and after pictures. We had some wonderful help. A big thank you to our friends Frank and Johanna Van Velsen for some straw. We also bought straw from a great family up near Ponoka. Thanks to Ted for cutting down the trees. Thanks to George Pattison for shredding the straw. And a big thank you to Darcy and Shelley Dyrland as well as Wayne Duncan and Ray and Marilyn Shaurette for helping Bob burn the field. And to all our friends and their support. Thank you.
