A reminder for families who are attending December 21-28th, that a packed lunch with two snacks is required daily as the kitchen is closed during this two weeks.

Boulevard Early Learning Centre and Boulevard Out of School Club will be closed the following days in observation of the Christmas Holidays: Friday, December 25th Monday, December 28th Friday, January 1st ... Please note we will be closing at 3:00 PM on Thursday December 24th, and Thursday December 31st. Packed lunches and snacks are required from December 21st- December 31st inclusive. Some are surprised to hear that one of our kiddos’ favourite meals here is quinoa, haddock and carrots! Quinoa is an amazing superfood-it is a grain that is a complete protein, and so easy to cook!

As our zone is being moved to the Orange Phase effective midnight, please be advised that children aged 2-5 will be required to wear a face mask when in common areas of the facility, including washrooms and corridors. Children aged 5-12 in the OOSC will be required to wear a mask at all times while in our care, except when eating. Boulevard Families, As another measure of protection added for our families, staff and children we are requesting all parents/guardians/caregivers to wear their community face masks at drop off and pickup until further notice. One of our favourite downtown businesses has outdone themselves this year! While we aren’t trick or treating door-to-door downtown with our littles this year due to COVID, they have spoiled us with individualized treat bags we can give them all. How sweet is that? Lookin’ at you Briggs Plumbing!

We are so excited to see you on Monday! Remember children are dropped off outside the front door after being screened. Please have an *easy to pack* backpack or bag to send with them and return home every day. -Ensure you send appropriate hot weather apparel (light colours and/or fabric if long sleeves-shorts/skorts etc), a full brimmed sun hat (bucket style etc with protection for the ears and neck), sunscreen (if children are not in the same class they just each bring the...ir own-you can divide it into Tupperware if necessary), changes of clothing and closed toed shoes for outside. -Ensure you have read and understand the Parent Obligations insert for the Parent Handbook (check your email for this, including your junk folder) and provided the centre with the names and contact information for all your household members -Send packed lunches and snacks that do not require reheating or refrigeration(ice packs should be used if food must be kept cold, and thermoses are a good option for hot lunches). A lunch and two snacks is required for the time being, along with a water bottle. - Talk with your child about extra handwashing and hygiene. -If possible, send a community face mask in a ziploc bag in their backpack in case of illness.

As Im sure youve all heard, Licensed Daycares in New Brunswick are permitted to open as of May 19th, 2020. We will do our best to be open for then, but please be aware that we have a lot of work to do behind the scenes to prepare for our new normal. We will inform all of our families on our firm date of reopening as soon as possible. We will be in contact with each of our families specifically, to discuss our reopening, your updated childcare needs and the revisions to our services for the remainder of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are really looking forward to seeing you again!

We sincerely appreciate the efforts of our families who are electing to keep their children home when possible over the next two weeks. If you are choosing to do this please send me a message, an email or call us to let us know. Social distancing is proven to work, but we understand it is not possible for everyone at this time and are here for the families that need us.

As you may have heard, all public schools in New Brunswick have been ordered to close for two weeks, beginning Monday, March 16th. Childcare facilities are not under the same order, and while we absolutely appreciate the concern surrounding containing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are also understanding of the families that are required to continue to work, including many health care professionals. As of right now, we plan to open Monday at 6:30 AM. ... We will continue to take precautionary disinfecting measures and hand washing to prevent the spread of any illness. We are NOT accepting new registrations for our Out of School Club until further notice. If your child is currently registered and attending the OOSC, our full day program will run for these children beginning Monday March 16th unless otherwise indicated/announced. Please stay tuned for further policy updates over the course of the weekend, pertaining to absences, isolation, illness policies etc.

Attention Boulevard Families and Staff: We received this memo from the Department of Early Learning and Education, to share with families. Please note that I have been informed by government officials and our licensing staff that quick trips across the border for gas, milk, groceries, and trips through Maine to get to Campobello are not included in the 14 day exclusion. It does however, include travel anywhere internationally, for more than a quick trip of a couple hours. It... would include vacations and overnight trips anywhere outside of Canada. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding at this time. We can appreciate the seriousness of containing the spread of the virus and are very happy to hear this wont affect our U.S. families or the majority of our families who travel across the border daily for necessities.

A note to all our families: We are required to have (and we love) outdoor time twice daily. Please ensure that your infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children come to us with appropriate gear for all weather conditions up to -20C, at which time we stay inside. If children are unwell to a point that you feel they should not be outside, they should not attend the program. This time of year, appropriate outdoor gear means; lined splash pants and/or snow pants, hea...vy jackets, hats and mitts and warm winter boots. Also, changes of clothing in case they get wet under their clothes. Please do not send scarves as they post a risk of strangulation-neck warmers are a great alternative, which are available inexpensively at the dollar store. A couple pairs of mittens are also a great idea, as they often get pretty wet in the morning. Please help us keep your little ones comfortable during outdoor time so they can enjoy it to the fullest!

Wow, the kids had such a fun time trick-or-treating this afternoon! Huge thanks to the businesses and organizations that participated in this fun event for our centre.

We have rescheduled our trick or treating for Friday Nov. 1 at 2:00 due to the terrible rain we had this afternoon-didnt want soggy kiddos or ruined costumes-so please send the kiddos costumes again tomorrow for even more Halloween fun!

Huge thanks to LeeLand Farms Canine Rehabilitation and Recreation Facility for donating these beautiful, HUGE sunflower heads to our OOSC and Preschool Classes for exploration and discovery!

Attention Boulevard Families: We are in need of plastic bags! As you know we use these to send home artwork and souled laundry. We would rather reuse existing bags than purchase more plastic so if you have clean grocery bags at home we would gladly take them! Also, a reminder that outdoor foods and beverages are not permitted in our centre other than for children with allergies (substitutions) or in the infant programs. Juice (or water enhancers) are not served at our centre and it will not be served to children when it is brought from home. Please send only water or white milk. We offer a healthy menu which most of our children happily eat when they dont have alternatives from home!
