The 10 minute air bike for max cals... All of my clients periodically do this test to measure progress and or maintenance in aerobic fitness. There’s many ways to test this energy system but I use the method I was taught by @opexfitness along with the 20 minute run for max distance. It’s a great way to gather data, plan and then prioritize a program based on client goals. ... My goal moving forward is to improve aerobic fitness to prep for the 2021 Rep-A-Thon 1000. A big gathering will likely be out next year so early plans are in place for a virtual event. Last year it became clear that we can get a lot more involvement from local youth with a few formatting changes and we’ve come up with a cool concept! Yesterday my friend, coach and mentor Bernie helped me create this general program outline. He asked me tough questions and challenged my thinking. He is a now retired coach who is guiding me along my coaching and athletic journey. I wish that everyone has a Bernie in their life. I can’t say what the program is for just yet but can say this. Even in the face of crushing odds, many failures and a global pandemic it is possible to chase your dreams. Do not let them go even if r...eality shuts the door in your face. More doors will open if you push on. I can say this because I have wanted to quit many times but didn’t nor would I coach my clients to quit. You never know when the door will open but it will. When you walk through you will find people who genuinely want to help you succeed. Today’s post-workout meal after an upper body resistance and aerobic running interval based session. Your meals do not have to be overly complex to meet your basic needs! Trying new recipes is fun but when time is tight basics take the win in my opinion. I like to use the @precisionnutrition hand method to determine my portion sizes. Everything that goes on my plate is determined by the size of my hand which is the ultimate personalized measurement tool. ... If it’s post workout such as this meal I will add one extra cupped handful of carbs and reduce the fat a bit. Nothing fancy but it works. Later this week I’ll share the difference between men’s and women’s hand-based portion sizes and how to structure your plate based on your goals.
